Having a couple cases a year be proven as false....and then using that as a way to diminish the problem in the US is kind of irresponsible. I don't know if that was your goal, but that is how it came across to me. Rape is a very serious problem in our country and for the most part you CAN automatically take a women's word. Sure, it is important to investigate to be sure, but your first reaction should be to take her at her word, because the statistics say she is telling the truth.

Second, do you really want to draft a guy who asked a chick in the elevator if she wanted to have a foursome?

Well the FBI says the number is about 1/3 the number you are citing, both number are of course far too high. As to the potential for a high profile person being targeted for a false accusation this could be more likely than an accusation against a 'nobody'.
