The Raiders cut five players Tuesday to reach the 85-player limit. The team announced the departures of veteran defensive tackle Vernon Butler and veteran receiver Demarcus Robinson along with defensive tackle Nate Brooks, defensive end Gerri Green and offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr.

He's not better than GOD, who has been almost unblockable during camp. Is he a better option than Guy, Sam Roberts or Davis now, maybe, but I think we have some good young guys with potential in Roberts and Davis and add Ray and we're better than we were a year ago at that position.

I thought he was decent here but not great. If he returned he'd be behind Barmore, God and Guy. Not sure about Anderson as he's been hurt and not enough playing time to judge. Davis is bigger and more of a fatty-type.

Los Angeles has waived tight end Kendall Blanton, running back Raymond Calais, defensive back Jairon McVea, running back A.J. Rose, and receiver J.J. Koski, the team announced.

Koski was waived with an injury designation.

They want another team to offset as much of the $3M guaranteed they owe him as possible, so it’s better for them if he doesn’t get lost in the mess of 800+ guys at final cuts.
