Next Stop, the Underwear Olympics

I wasn't trying to imply that it would. But I suspect that for the Pats a 6' 5 1/2" guy with 34" arms who has played LT in the past would get as much of a look at tackle as at guard. Yankey's versatility is a big part of his appeal.

I certainly hope they would give reps at both, Joel Bitonio is a semi-binkie of mine for this exact reason. I was extremely proud of the team when Mankins stepped in at LT and did an excellent job.

While I don't disagree with you I think that situation was mostly a HC and GM not on the same page. As LBer coach for a year I wouldn't have a problem with it, he seems pretty good at developing talent.

The head coach is responsible for tweaking his system based on personnel. That's one of the things that makes BB such a great head coach. The way I see it, Schiano was either (A) too stupid to use the personnel he had at his disposal properly, or (B) had way too much faith in his system. One is totally inexcusable for an NFL head coach and the other is a fault. Either way, I don't want him on the Pats coaching staff. He made his bones off the fact that he is a very good college recruiter (something I will give him credit for) that brought in top end talent against piss poor competition. In Tampa, he made the mistakes that I've already mentioned plus reportedly alienated his locker room. No thanks.

That said, Belichick mentioned in his presser that the coaching staff is all set. So Schiano can go back to college for all I care.

More numbers from Jeremiah:

- Martavis Bryant 6' 3 1/2" 211#.
- Bruce Ellington 5' 9 3/8" 197#.
- Carlos Hyde 5' 11 7/8" 230#.
- Jeremy Hill 6' 0 5/8" 233#.
- Tre Mason 5' 8 1/2" 207#.
- Ka'Deem Carey 5' 9 3/8" 207#.
- Bishop Sankey 5' 9 1/2" 209#.
- Terrance West 5' 9 1/4" 225# (Doug Martin-like).
- Andre Williams 5' 11 3/8# 230#.

Will Tre's height hurt his stock? Was listed at 5'10 but measured at 5'8 1/2". He's a binky of mine but dont want a 2nd round RB obviously. Could he last to 91?

It might, but I doubt it would matter enough to drop him to 91. RB should not be looked at in the draft anyway, IMO, unless it's a 7th round flyer or a UDFA. I like Mason too. But I wouldn't invest even the 91st pick to get him.

I don't think anyone expected him to be 5'10". 5' 8 1/2" is pretty much what I expected. Maurice Jones-Drew (5' 6 6/8" 207#), Ray Rice (5'8" 199#) and Giovanni Bernard (5' 8 3/8" 202#) were all 2nd round picks.

I'm not a fan, FWIW. I don't want to go RB that early, but I'd take Devonta Freeman, Ka'Deem Carey or Bishop Sankey all well ahead of Mason. Mason is too limited in the receiving game for my taste.

Out of all of the WR's, I'm most interested to see what Benjamin's 40 time is going to be. There are a ton of big WR's in this year's draft.

I was a tad disappointed by ASJ's numbers. Was expecting 34" plus arms and 10" plus hands. He was just under on both. Not terrible but I was expecting freak and he wasn't quite there. Troy Niklas on the other hand......wowser!

Measurements are important. Gronk wouldn't be the player he is without those 10 3/4" hands. I was hoping for Gronk hands from ASJ.

While I prefer ASJ, I agree on him v Niklas. Will be fine with either.

Your Logan Thomas love as a TE re-conversion just got a boost: 6'6" 248#, 34 1/4" arms, 10 7/8" hands.

2014 NFL Combine: Results Tracker | NEPatriotsDraft.com - 2014 NFL Draft

There's your 6'6" TE with 34" arms and 10"+ (almost 11") hands. That's slightly taller (6'6" vs. 6' 5 3/4") than at the Senior Bowl, with slightly bigger hand size (10 7/8" vs. 10 3/4"). But the big difference is arm length: 34 1/4" at the Combine, vs. only 33" at the Senior Bowl.

I hope all the running backs and the wide receiver's really impress and put up crazy numbers at the combine so maybe more teams will draft them higher and will push some defensive players down to us!!!!!

FWIW, Benjamin claims that he was measured at only 4% body fat at that weight. I haven't seen confirmation of that, however.

If you're hoping for Pryor (as I am), then hope in one hand and, well... you know. There's no way Pryor is making it past the Cowboys.

That's incredible. He and Watkins are going to be the Julio Jones and A.J. Green of this class. I'm predicting now that those two are going to come out and light it up, even as rookies, for their respective teams.

Lol....Yes I am, I was thinking the Packers might be really interested in him as well. I was thinking the Cowboys might try and go after d-line first and then safety. I really hope Jerry losses it and drafts offense with their first pick.

Ouch!

"@JoshNorris: De'Anthony Thomas rounded measurements: 5'9/174 lbs. 8 1/8" hands and 29 7/8" arms.”

AJ McCarron says the Patriots are the "Alabama of pro football" and that it would be awesome to sit and learn behind Tom Brady. At least on those two responses, he's passing my version of the interview process.
