New lockerroom conduct standards coming

You don't deserve Thatcher.
Thatcher's dead, as are all the other political figures discussed so far. We must get this thread back on topic:

Now for bonus points Goodell just needs to come up with a queensland rail etiquette themed ad campaign.

Dont'a is hyper aggressive.
He cheers on his teammates instead of sending threatening, racist, homophobic texts.

Locker room etiquette.
Super simple stuff.

Not sure many people know what that is, so I've attached an example.

QLR (Australia) mounted an ad campaign which invited people to put their own sayings on posters that had just pictures. Big mistake.

one can always read those posts in context and one will easily see that I am 100% correct.

anyway, thanks for the advice Deus...I finally put it on ignore.

Hitler committed mass murder. Goodell fined the Patriots a first round draft pick.

I guess, to some, those are equal atrocities. Personally, I find that picture to be despicable and offensive.

Does this mean that finally locker room wet towel snapping ist verboten?

.. Max Bialystock: Listen. Every night people are laughing at your beloved Fuhrer. Why?

Franz Liebkind: It's that L.S.D., und his verdampter "babies"! .....

You people need to understand that there is a difference between ridiculing Hitler (like those pictures on page 2 of this thread) and comparing a modern day real life figure to Hitler and providing imagery to that extent.

With more good role models in the NFL there will be less need for standards on Locker Room conduct. However, these new standards on conduct could possibly help NFL Locker Rooms for the better.

Joker & others... sorry but I have to agree with this.

Many years ago I took a class that was taught by Elie Wiesel, who you all know experienced firsthand what Hitler did to him, his family, and his world.

The stories he had to tell literally made our skins crawl and left quite a few students crying. Those were stories that did not make it into any of his books because his publishers objected that these stories were downright inhumane and were too sickening for public consumption. They were nothing like what you see in movies about "nazi atrocities."

There is just nothing like listening or talking to someone who really was there when it happened.

It left a very real impression on me. The fact that Elie Wiesel did not end up a bitter, faithless, angry old man, is in itself a real miracle to me.

I don't have to understand anything written by this troll.

FYI, I READ Life magazine's accounts of Eichmann and his trial in 1960. I was 8 years old. I immersed myself in holocaust study every chance I had after that and studied the Armenian genocide at the hands of the Turks, urged on by the parents of one of my best friends, Ben, a second generation Armenian.

I also studied the India holocausts and the three major Chinese holocausts. I'm not going to get in a "who's more moral" crapfest with you or anyone else. That .jpg is obviously a result of extreme dissatisfaction with Roger Goodell's attitude toward the fans of the NFL. This is not a moral referendum. It's a goddamned sports message board. Hyperbole, in case you haven't noticed, is de rigueur for message boards the world over.

For your edification, here is a link to the Life articles and Eichmann's own chilling "explanation" for the genocides....click the home link for the entire work,

The Confession of Adolf Eichmann

Well look at all the delicate little emotional snowflakes that are outting themselves in this thread.

Talk about thread derailment...

Sunday morning was listening to Christian Fauria, who spent 13 years in uniform, he was appalled at what happened in that locker room and the complicity of the line coach.

On one hand hear boys will be boys, on the other hear that what occurred is particularly egregious behavior.. from what seems to be written, the latter is more likely.

I cannot imagine this happening in the Pats locker room, BB is known for his micromanaging all aspects of this organization.

Joker, as much as I despise Godell it's not accurate to compare him to Hitler. Quite frankly I think the comparison is kinda obscene, Hitler committed mass murder and genocide, this is nothing of the sort.

I think you're being overly sensitive.

Bringing Hitler's atrocities into any discussion will help remind people just how despicable he and his henchmen were. In that sense it's a good thing. We should never forget, and we should want future generations to be aware of it forever.

My dad was a disabled WWII veteran, and he had some graphic photos of the victims of Hitler's regime. I'll never forget those images that I saw as a child, and as I learned later in life were taken at the demand of Eisenhower, just as he demanded that people be forced to go through the remains of the death camps. He realized that people would some day try to deny what happened.

I think that the Miami locker room was the exception in the NFL, not the rule.

I agree to an extent. I'm sure stuff like this goes on just about everywhere, it's just not quite as systematic as it was in Miami. It was pervasive in their culture from all accounts, and got out of control.

My concern with dictated locker room standards is one of degree. What constitutes a violation? Is it one insensitive remark? Is it one slur? If so, what's to stop any bubble player who just got cut from saving that time he heard player X use the "F" word and screwing the team that let him go? Might not be an issue for most players (who would want to burn bridges like that), but if you know this was your last/only chance in the NFL, what's to stop it?

I agree with the standards in principle. If NFL players can't be decent on their own, they need to be treated like any other company would treat their employees and have protections in place. I just think this is going to be VERY hard to police. Every time you get a complaint you now have to interview several players/coaches on that team.

This thread reminds me that I come to the Forum to discuss football, not politics or global affairs.

I'm outa here.
