N’Keal Harry Requests Trade

Meyers is one of these guys who just has an innate ability to get open on a consistent basis, despite lacking elite speed and athleticism. I don’t believe that the final 11 games were a fluke or case of there being so few options in the passing game. In my opinion they are more likely an early indication of a special player. I wouldn’t be surprised if he puts up some big numbers this year, despite the WR and TE additions. He needs to find a way to turn some of those catches into 6 points, though.
Bingo. The cat just gets open. That's why he'll be #1 in targets. He may not be #1 in yards, ypc or TDs but he'll be the safety valve.

Agreed. More often than not, water finds its level when you're looking at receiving talent. There might be a 10 catch swing one way or the other, but if Meyers is good, he'll get his catches regardless of who else is out there. More weapons might reduce his looks in a vacuum, but also might grant him more favorable matchups. They tend to wash and talent wins out over the course of a full season. I expect 60+ catches minimum from Meyers this year if healthy.

To me, that was the most disappointing thing about 2019 Brady. Even though it was preseason, other QBs clearly liked throwing to Meyers, and Meyers seems to have what Brady likes with quickly finding a seam. I thought the two would develop some great chemistry, but it didn’t happen.

Even if it was a measly 26 catches on 41 targets just Tom throwing to him validates he is a decent WR.

Isabella is a bust - what great quality is that? If he couldn't learn something from Larry Fitzgerald, who on the Patriots is going to take him under their wing?

Isabella's 6.95 3-Cone is unimpressive for such a small guy. Tre Nixon has a 6.81 3-Cone. Isabella's strength is speed, and as noted by @WinstonSmith, Hall is faster.

I don't see Isabella in the slot (not shifty and too slight of frame), and not sure what he adds that Zuber, Nixon and Hall don't already provide. Zuber and Nixon are fast, more shifty than Isabella, still learning and growing, and might develop into solid players.
The thing about Isabella is that he's playing for a team where he's a bad fit. He's a non-first look small guy with a QB who can't see over his line, and has to move in order to make his throws. So it becomes a question of whether he's an NFL bust or just a Cardinals bust, which is pretty much the same question that some have put forward about Harry (NFL bust v. Bad fit in NE).

Because Tommy Boy was a pouty prima donna in 2019. Instead of letting Meyers go through normal rookie growing pains, he essentially banished him to the sidelines because of a couple of incorrect routes and drops, after refusing to publicly support him during press conferences. The Jakobi Meyers of late season 2019 could likely have been as productive as the 2020 version, if he had been given a fair chance by his QB. That Jakobi definitely could have helped them in the divisional round vs. Tenn but Brady had his guys on the field, culminating in a pathetic 20/37, 209, 0, 1 stat line and an embarrassing loss.

Now bring on the wagons, to circle around Professor Concussion Water/Immune Booster. I’m sure that several outraged posters will be sprinting over from the Brady forum because I “disrespected” the GOAT.

Hasn't hurt Christian Kirk any....

Is anybody shocked that Harry has not been traded yet?

Would anybody be shocked if he trots out on the field during training camp?

I think it comes down to the Patriots motivation to trade him. If they feel like he's going to be a problem in the locker room, they'll move him before camp. But they have some time before then to explore the market, and if they don't feel like they're getting a meaningful return (and they think their locker room is strong enough to weather a few weeks of a malcontent), they may wait until some injuries around the league make teams a little more desperate for warm bodies at WR.

I thought we would have heard if the NEP granted his request to look for a team who might take but i'm also not surprised we haven't.

your point?

There is no reason for the team to jump; they can afford to wait. Are folks afraid of getting 6th instead of a 5th if they wait )or a 7th instead of a 6th)?

The point is he has a terrible attitude and that it’s quite shocking he hasn’t been shown the door yet.

I don’t care about trade value because he doesn’t have any. Anything they get in return would be great.

I’ve spelled out the list of events leading up to this and we’ve seen guys do far less and get shown the door.

He makes Dom Easley seem like a good teammate.

You seem to not understand his contract. You would cut him and have the team pay $4M of cap money. At very least, they should allow the agent to find a team who will take him and take over his salary for the next couple of years. We could give them a 2023 7th.

I meant why hasn’t he been traded yet? Besides, when has Bill put up with a terrible player with demands like Harry and just ignored it? I don’t think Bill takes money into account when you have a guy like Harry doing Harry things. This is not what Bill stands for.

They typically trade players/make trades during camp or right before Week 1. There is zero urgency to trade him right now. Everyone is on vacation.

...and Bill certainly isn't going to fire up the laptop on Nantucket and send emails begging people to take Do-N'Kuthin' off his hands.

Let the kid twist in the wind. He needs to learn the earth does not revolve around him.

I agree but it might be his family's and agent's suggestion, and he is being convinced. Not an easy spot when you are drafted in the 1st round and suck. His leaked Wonderlic was a 21 - not too bad. Metcalf's was an 11
