Moss loves new job - Boston Herald

Does anyone else notice how when Pats players are talking about how much they loving playing for the organization they more often than not mention the food? You'd think that all NFL organizations would do this. Seems like just another little thing the Pats do to gain an edge.

it IS funny actually, HA hA

but i love how randy is mentoring chad...imagine we now will have the long list of the most amazing WR's in history? LOL

it's funny, it reminds me of a scene in one of the 3G2G DVD's of Rodney and a couple others (TBC maybe?) leaving Gillette at night and all carrying takeout containers of food...

I always thought Moss was fine. I never listen to the medai anyway, and non of his past teammates (minus Culpeper) ever said anything bad about him.

The day I found out we were interested in him and BB liked him, I "prayed" we would get him. I didn't think it was likely, so when he actually signed, I was beyond ecstatic. I still can't get over the fact that we have Randy Moss. Every time I look at my Moss desktop wallpaper I'm like "We Have Randy ******* Moss!!! WE HAVE RANDY MOSS!!! AHHH!!!! YEAAA!!!"

If there was one thing I was waiting for, it was for Brady to get a reciever like Moss, the best in the game.

I get excited about every marque player the Pats bring in. I was super thrilled about Rodney, Dillon, Moss, Washington. I was also thrilled about Chad Brown, so you never know for sure.....

I just like what the Pats do. They look to draft good players they can utilize for 3-4 years, and then keep the star players if possible. They fill in depth with good quality free agents in vast numbers and simply choose the best each training camp.

And then they bring in former pro-bowl level players at just about ANY position to give them a try. That is where we get the Dillons and Harrisons, and it always fires me up. Seau, even Larry Centers. They all get me fired up because it could be a guy that changes the whole attitude of our team, like Rodney on D and Dillon on O.

I think the thrill of Randy will REALLY sink in if we think about him being with Brady for the rest of their careers. That is exciting. I have been assuming Randy will re-sign since about week two or three. The writing is on the wall; he likes it here, he wants a legacy, he likes Brady and BB.

Hey...fellow Vikings fan...I'm here living vicariously through Moss too, since our franchise appears to be in rebuilding stage

I just hope it's HEALTHY food. Most of the really good food you get from top restaurants is actually pretty bad for you. Lots of cholesterol, saturated fat, sodium, etc.

Ahh, who am I kidding. I would kill to eat at their buffet every day. Lucky bastards.

Randy Moss works at the Boston Herald now?

I for one was neutral (really!) as in "Well OK, Corey worked out just fine, so let's give Randy a chance" neutral.

I had mixed feelings. Part of getting old and wise is that I see moe than one angle. I saw the Dillon parallel, the low risk deal, and the team's chemistry as the upside. I saw the fact that we haven't been great at finding WRs and Randy's baggage as the downside. I was downright giddy at first. Had I known that it'd be like this, I'd have danced a jig (while driving down to the Everglades on vacation).

I was neutral about Moss........ til he got here. What a steal, and I hope he retires here. On a side note, that's 2 glowing articles about CJ in the last couple days. I can't wait to see him. BB was raving about his "football progress" last year.

Seriously, I think that's the whole idea. They want to encourage players to spend the day at the "office," even during the offseason, and they want to encourage healty eating habits. So they attacked both targets at once by offering 3 healthful, fabulous gourmet meals a day at the stadium. Perfection.

From what I've read, offering breakfast in the offseason is extremely unusual. But think about the payoff. You're a young single guy, rolling out of bed hungry. You know that you have to go to Gillette at some point, so why not go now and get breakfast out of the deal? Voila! Patriots employees are at work bright and early, on a purely voluntary basis.

I laughed too when I saw he mentioned the food. I'd like to take a look at the menu and see what all the players love so much

Man, if work did that for me, I'd sleep at the office. Um, as long as they had a TiVo and cable for Pats games.

"“The atmosphere around here is good,” he said. “Some teams or organizations go out there and practice, and lollygag and go through the motions. Here, we take care of business inside the classroom and outside of it. And then go out there and execute and make things happen on Sunday. So, everything that comes with football is why I love coming to work, from the food, all the way to sitting around here with the camaraderie in the locker room."

....."from the food......"

Interestingly enough, this brought back the memories of Corey Dillon's magazine interview in the middle of his first season with the Pats. IIRC, he gushed about the fact that Kraft supplies the best food in the NFL to the team - - 3 meals per day - - as if it was at a different level than anything he's ever heard of with any other team. At one point in the interview he actually gushed something like "Man, they even have Alaskan crab legs here!!".

It may seem silly, but this may be a microcosm (obviously, they don't just come for the food!) of why FA's are willing to accept less to come here. The Patriots organization expects selflessness and hard work every single minute, but they also treat their players a bit differently also, it seems.

I'll tell you what, the way to a southern boy's heart is food. This probably explains a lot where AD and others are concerned

Seriously though, I've heard of the treatment Kraft provides to players and all I can say is.....where do I sign up?
