Should we at least try him out ?

Hmmm interesting, but would he really offer more to the team than Martin who has been in the system all year? That said, I would bring him in for a workout at the very least.

Why not? Let's get him.

Seems essentially impossible for him to be worse than Lafell, Martin, or the other drek in the roster

I know it's frustrating watching them drop balls, run wrong routes and have no seperation but Austin is not better than them and that's how bad we have come but we must have faith that a few more games will improve their chemistry and they will get better. Chandler has improved a little already. I know this is a sad commentary but we need slater in for those deep balls because lafell and Martin don't have enough speed.

Since we're going to be a skeleton crew at WR for atleast the next few games they gotta atleast take a look.

Before charging into the Miles Austin fan club, don't you think we should at minimum see why they cut him? How about what it will cost?
Further, I believe there are only 3 teams currently on the pecking order list that come after the Patriots in order to sign this guy. That's a lot of teams that will have to pass on this guy for the Patriots to get him.

LaFell is fine for what he is, a guy who when he gets the lower tier coverage he can often take advantage of it. He is not a primary target, he doesn't win his one on one battle against the higher tier coverage, he isn't a guy who takes the heat off of others. LaFell is a good target for when the matchup is favorable -- something he gets due to other more potent targets like Gronk or Jules get extra defensive attention.

LaFell along with DA, Jules, Gronk, hopefully White (or ????) as the 3rd down back as well as the lower tier options of Martin and Chandler. That is a target rich environment for a top tier QB like Tom Brady. It is going to give any team major fits. As long as the OL gets its act together we will be fine....

He can catch better than LaFell.. And may be provide an option until Edelman is back...

Welker should walk off the field early this week when the Rams play Detroit...

Hey, worked for Blount.....

I'd rather give Harper a try for real. Not a big Austin fan. Plus, we need better o-line protection too, not just WR's

That's great, TB is working with a group of guys that combined probably had less targets than Edelman alone. It takes time to develop the chemistry needed and these guys are what we have. I saw Tommy overthrow and underthrow also, should we give Garofalo a try? Pats lost because they made too many mistakes: special teams, TB, OL, DL, WR, and coaches. The Eagles took advantage and they won. If Pats run the ball instead of a pick-6 they kick a FG. That's a 10 point turnaround, enough for the win. That's on the coaches and TB. It is what it is.

Miles Austin couldn't get on the field in Cleveland last year and hasn't set the world on fire in Philly.

No thank you, let's just go with who we've got. Honestly, can they play worse than they did this last week?
