Mike Reiss: Alan Branch didn't make the trip to TB

Not really shocking. Guy played 12 snaps against Carolina 4 days ago, given his play might be better to just give those snaps to guys like Butler, Guy and Wise who on motivation, fitness and commitment is on another level right now than Branch.

Belichick has lost the locker room. Time to fire him and bring in new blood. I'm thinking Joe Gibbs.

Hand it to Tom Brady I think you mean. He can throw, catch, play defense, and run the team!

Let's consider who plays the bigboy positions at DT on funning downs. Wise is an excellent DE pass rusher.

It may time to activate Blackson. We need backup in the middle. I guess Guy is it for now.

I think Branch has played his last snap for NE. He's out of shape and that's not going to get fixed from being benched, like Sheard or Malcolm Brown situation was.

Meh. I'd rather take my chance with Wise getting some push inside on 1st down and the chance of it being a passing play than I would Branch right now. Wise might even be an improvement in the run game over Branch right now. Just look at that gif that was posted in this thread.

Remember when Fat Albert signed his massive contract and then just gave up. Branch is doing exactly the same. Look at both of these fat asses fall down on the ground on their own. Branch is out of shape.

This Homer is getting a 2009 vibe. Hope I'm just over reacting, likely so.
In 2002 and 2005 there were age, talent and injury issues that brought the team down.

In 2009 you had talent issues but certainly there were some malcontents that by 2010 were jettisoned.

I don't really know if this is 2002, 2005, 2009 or something different but whatever it is it needs to be fixed quickly.

Why is it either playing well or giving up with you people ? He has not performed well for whatever reason, he gets a breather and lets see what else happens with the roster during the mini BYE.

It has been ugly for sure. The most concerning thing to me is that the defense seems confused and lacking confidence. Until that unit improves and plays consistently, it is hard to feel optimistic about the team as a serious contender as of now.

Brady could still carry a bad defense up to the AFCCG, given some lucky breaks along the way.

The starters now are from Brown, Guy and Butler. I see no reason to use Wise as a DT.

Guy played 46 snaps on d (12 on special trams)
Branch played 12

Ya that was confusing on my part, when I said "guy" I was referring to Branch, as in "that guy", didn't mean for it to come off as meaning Lawrence Guy

He was not somebody I expected we'd have to replace. It sucks when key performers suddenly stop playing well. We have a number of guys in that category, though, especially on D.
