Exactly. It seemed that all the Vikings needed was a "game manager" type QB. The scope of the team certainly looks a lot different than it did before. Gone is the flashy offense and in is what appears to be an improved defense.

The question with Culpepper isn't whether he can distribute the ball around with flair. Rather, the question is, TO WHOM is he chucking the thing and at what times of the game.

Vinny Testaverde. Drew Bledsoe. Kerry Collins. All guys who could, at times, look like world-turners. All guys who would KILL you at the worst possible time. Daunte's one of those dudes.

That's a very good comparison, the double edged sword. Culpepper fits into that category. You can say Favre is now in that company as well.

Even with the vastly overrated Ben Roethlisberger, the Fins would beat the Steelers. The Steelers are not even close to the team they were last year and they hit a string of very fortunate events in the post season. Also, Hines Ward might not play.

LOL. Maybe the Fins would have a chance if they were playing at home. But they're not. They're in Pitt. They are going to be destroyed. The scoreboard probably won't reflect it, but I expect to see pure domination.

They are, however, half a step above the Dawlpfinz, who the Patriots BEGGED to beat them last year, and almost couldn't pull it off.

I'll go you one further - the Steelers, for YEARS, have had the easiest road in the league.

But for one cheap shot by Kimo von Oelhoffen, the Steelers would have had a much earlier exit. And, I don't care what anyone says, lunging at a quarterback's lower legs is and always will be a cheap shot. But, there were all those wonderful "Jerome Goes Home" video cuts to use during Superbowl week.
