Here's some garbage blocking by the fish:
1st qtr, 4:27, 2nd and 5, MIA 31, Pats in base defense with Chung in the box, single high safety
Fasano and Julius Thomas get pushed back hard by Butler and Reilly. Atrocious blocking! stretch runs are always hard to block for the olineman and TE but that was
bad how much he got pushed back. That would never happen to Allen or Gronk. That was straight trash! Butler and Reilly are there to make the tackle.
1st qtr, 3:46, 3rd and 5, MIA 31
Just to add to Fasano's fabulous blocking, Van Noy beats him inside on the next play but Fasano with a clear hold on Van Noy. Should have been flagged.
Instead it's a 1st down for Moore. Van noy would have got him for a sack.
2nd qtr, 2:03, 1st and 10, MIA 48
Look as Fasano can't sustain his block against Chung. No gain for Drake because of it.
3rd qtr, 8:36, MIA 49.5, 2nd and 1
Julius Thomas with some garbage blocking. Van Noy gets tackle for loss, Flowers forces the fumble, Chung recovers the fumble.
But nevermind that, who gives a **** about blocking, blocking doesn't matter...
It really is a failure of tv broadcasts highlighting those things. Instead we get commercial after commercial after commercial. I guess it will never happen but I would love to see what a premium cable channel could do for the viewing experience with all the time they'd have to do quick analysis and replays while the basic tv networks are on commercial break.
If I understand it correctly, once upon a time subscription TV was created so there were no ads vs Over the air broadcast. And what happened? You got ads on subscription TV. So what it would do for the viewing experience? Nothing, you would just be paying more with the same amount of ads.
This is from Boston Sports Journal article last week:
"In all, according to Pro Football Focus, he’s been asked to work in coverage on 107 snaps this year. Ten passes have been completed on him in 13 targets. But when quarterbacks do get the ball to him, the pass-catchers can’t do much with it — he’s allowed just 33 yards after the catch and 84 total receiving yards. It’s one of the best totals for any inside linebacker who has been in coverage for 100 or more snaps this season."
Considering how lost he was in coverage at times last year, that's a major improvement. Additionally they note how well he's playing against the run:
"Going into last weekend, according to Pro Football Focus, he led the Patriots defense with an 8.1 percent run-stop percentage."
