Mayo negotiations + OC interviews next week

brian johnson
make him the qb coach and assistant OC or passing game coordinator or whatever to get him from philly where is the qb coach
he did coach qb for several years, turned hurts into a really solid qb,
he also has been an OC at the college level

To get him from Philly, he either needs to have his contract expired or the Pats need to offer him a promotion. Otherwise, Philly can block the request,

would be assistant OC or passing game coordinator a promotion, or is only OC a possible promotion from qb coach?

Brian Johnson has interviewed with the Titans already I think.
But I’m really into getting an offensive staff member from a dynamic offense.
Eagles, Niners, Dolphins, Chiefs, Bills, Lions are where I want to see us poaching to build the staff. Traditional offenses are dead.

Ring. Lets be friends
Jesus, Mary and the other guy your overly analytic ways can get somewhat annoying
Take a gummy. Put on Dark Side of the Moon and think about that 28-3 comeback before you start typing

And when you said in your previous reply to me “I didn‘t ask to challenge you”. After all you previous and present replies to me I interpret that to be a fib
You be are an odd fellow

A hard question, given that in the end Bill's "opening up his world" to Josh turned out to mean virtually nothing. I suppose if you substitute equal terms, you could say Bill will do absolutely nothing of the kind for Mayo. That seems to me the soundest prediction.
Why would anyone assume that Belichick withholds information and knowledge. That’s bizarre. If Mayo is the hand picked successor, as seems clear, of course belichick is going to train him completely

Mac fought through adversity this year and looked better at the end. Even though the season was a disappointment, I would be surprised if Mac does not feel good about himself (which is important with his overly emotional personality type). I do not think it was a wasted year at all, I think Mac grew up a lot and is on an upswing going into 2023, unlike coming into 2022.
Yes, agree with that.. But wasted year as far as trying to legitimately and fairly gadge Mac's trajectory. This BS offensive structure that he had to endure all season wore on him.. (Imagine having to listen to Patricia and judge in your ear every day!)

So yes definitely agree he grew up some, and showed his leadership abilities. I'm just eager to look forward to the offseason. Under a real OC, real offensive structure I feel Mac will thrive

Has he interviewed anywhere yet?
We can still count OC interviews on one two hands. There’s been very little action so far. (Edit: I missed the two Titans.)

Jets:
Eagles passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo (last Friday)
Former Colts OC Marcus Brady (today)
Pats TE coach Nick Caley (this week)

Rams:
Former Jets OC Mike LaFleur

Titans:
Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy
Chiefs QB coach Mike Nagy

I don’t know if the Krafts especially Jonathan believe in a succession plan at all. They may may feel that once Belichick is done, they are going to replace him with the best head coaching candidate available even if he isn’t in house.

What if the year Belichick leaves, Kyle Shanahan is available and wants to coach the Patriots. Are you going to stay in house or get a coach has proven he can win at a high level with any QB?

Shanahan's career has been wildly overrated. He's won nothing, and his team in SF was crap until he got Samuel.

What could possibly make mayo stay? I doubt he gets defensive coordinator title. Maybe asst head coach?

He’s turning down HC interviews so it sounds like a done deal.

I don't know. My GUESS is that it would have to be OC. That anything else would be seen as a lateral move. Again, that's just my guess.

Per Lazar, we're attempting to get right with Kraft (is how I read it) and get over our special and different way of doing this stuff.

Now despite the "Patriots to Extend Lazar" piece of this, the ink is certainly not dry on any agreement.

Tawk among yourselves, unless this has been posted, in which case please merge, mods, please and thank you.
There is absolutely nothing in the article resembling what you describe it is.

We don't know what BB shared with JMD. Ultimately he left because BB pulled a TB12 and continued to coach longer than expected with no firm end in sight.
