I remember well Bennett playing visibly hurt last year with Gronk out and him as the only real TE threat. A warrior who earned his ring.

You can go through it physical therapy first before opting for surgery. Sometimes, through PT, the shoulder strengthens enough to not need surgery. I would expect that’s the route the Patriots are going to go with Bennett. He may be able to play through it. If not, he’ll go on IR and get surgery.

For some reason you get hung up on his salary as if it matters. He is signed for this season and will most certainly be cut at the end of it. The only relevant question is if he can fulfill his role in the gameplan whatever that is. And the signing of Bennett -- if he can actually contribute with that torn rotator cuff -- will make it easier for him to just do that.

Well you did say in the second half of the chargers game he played 12 snaps and made 2 mistakes. So we are to assume from your analysis that he only made one more mistake from the rest of his 137 snaps Not including the 36 snaps from our losses. He really should be playing a lot more if he is so mistake free.

If Bennett does become the #2 TE for the rest of the season and BB keeps Allen, maybe he will move Hollister (6-4, 235) to WR, where we have a lot of short guys.

There was a nice video showing this coverage following Allen posted in the game analysis thread. I went WTF? the defenders are chasing Allen and let Gronk slide free just beyond the goal line. Hilarious!
