Think about it -- Grigson said on the record that he contacted the NFL over "concerns" about what NE was doing with balls.

How on earth could Goodell not be notified of that? That's not to say Goodell necessarily had to be aware of any sting (rogue or not), but when the GM of a team in the AFCCG accuses its opponent in the AFCCG of doctoring balls, how is Goodell not informed of that?? (Remember, Goodell told the Official League Mouthpiece and Shill that Goodell wasn't personally aware of any accusations until after the game.)

That is literally unbelievable.

I do beieve that whether it was a sting with Kensil orchestrating it. Goodell finding out after the fact but believing Kensil's accusations. Saying it will only take 2-3 days for a decision.

Then Kraft balked at the whole theory claiming a frame job and demanding Wells to do a thorough investigation independent of Goodell and Kensil. Could explain the "have not talked to Wells in several weeks.

Wells has recently notified Goodell and Kraft that the investigation is complete. Hense it is coming to a end.

Goodell stating He did not know ahead of time to protect his sorry ass if the proverbial hits the fan.

Excellent post. This wasn't some game between middling teams in late October. It was one of the three biggest games of the year for the league. If you were the commissioner, you would want to be notified of any concerns leading up to that game, especially if you were attending it.

Well, we know they are incompetent. I know people think Goodell is out to get the Pats, but I don't think that is the case. I think that isn't the case, he is just a bad commissioner.

But I don't know if this was incompetence. If Kensil is out to get the Pats as people have intimated, he could have easily just kept the Grigson information to himself and set up the sting without anyone's knowledge. It was a poorly executed sting. So it looks like it could be done by one man. Otherwise, they would have had the refs record the PSI before the game and at halftime. And they certainly wouldn't have had a league employee who was stealing footballs on the field.

Well, why would they wait to after the draft to kill Belichick. I could see it now:
