IMO this is the 2nd year in a row where the Saints were robbed because of a non-call.

On 3rd and goal from the 4 in OT, the Vikings won on a clear push-off by their TE in the back corner of the endzone. He ended up wide open. The play was reviewed but not overturned. It was identical to a play in the Seattle/Philly game that was overturned.

Had that call been reversed, as it should have been, the Vikings would have had to kick a FG and play some defense to win. Instead they were gift wrapped a playoff game.

The officiating in the NYFL has been getting worse every year since 345 Park Ave took over the replays.

Meh. If that was OPI, then you can take away about 40 catches from Mike Thomas' total this season. The overall lack of OPI calls is basically the one thing NFL officials are consistent about. You can make a very strong argument they're not calling it according to the rulebook, but at least they're consistent about it and you can reasonably expect it not to get called unless it's very egregious.

Just about every player on the Saints choked and Sean Payton choked too. DeMario Davis, Taysom Hill and our rookie punt returner Deonte Harris were all incredible. Everybody else sucked, especially the offensive line which was embarrassingly bad after being one of the best lines in the NFL the last few years.

Frankly I think all these bad playoff losses are in the players heads. We are the team that loses in horriffic unprecented fashion in the last minute. This goes all the way back to the Beastquake game, The Catch III, Minnesota Miracle, then whatever the hell the Rams fans call last year's debacle. When it goes bad for you that often, you just start to expect it. I started getting drunk in the 2nd quarter yesterday because I just had a feeling it was going to have another one of these endings and I'm glad I did.

At least we lost the game fair and square this time.

Now, I may have "sworn off football" about a week ago when the Dolphins essentially ended our season, but what the Saints did was way more embarrassing. The 2019 Patriots were nationally known and accepted to have run out of steam prior to this weekend, whereas the Saints (as they are every single year with the same result) were hyped up as a "complete team" that landed the 3 seed on a technicality. They were supposed to contend for the Super Bowl and couldn't even win one game at home.

Drew Brees..... has anyone done more & while accomplishing less?

The forehead is close, but Brees playoff performances takes him out of any Brady comparison.

Brady playoff resume blows away Brees & Peyton Manning.

After that incredibly obnoxious 29/30 “in your face!” game by Brees, that choke job was glorious to watch. There’s actually people arguing he’s a top 5 all-time QB. Lol.

This is the so true. It’s such a mess of a rule and, like holding, if actually called by the book there would barely be an honest play in any game. Human official error/choice/judgment is part of the sport and all the rules the NFL has put in have only made it worse. Some want to take away the game winner b/c it’s a “big play” but not the 2nd quarter first down catch that went unnoticed but led to an important score. All the points count the same.

You can’t take away a td because if incidental contact on a defender who is holding and not even attempting to play the ball.

You can jam within 5 yards, so you can use your hands. Cannot call it a hold with a still shot like that

Patriots have won three of the last five SB's. Been to four. Saints haven't won a SB with a HOF QB in ten years. Furthermore, the Saints were expected to get to the SB. Not so much the Pats this year. Long story short, the Pats have met expectations. Nor the Saints.

Maybe the Saints should stop crying about the officials. Look in the mirror and fix your terrible defense. Maybe get a 2nd WR who is competent. Their offense has flat out stunk in their last three playoff elimination games. And their coach has been god awful in the past two playoff games.

Yeh, I know, I live in the New Orleans area. They are still belly aching about the NFCCG last year. Maybe it was a bad no call. However, they should focus their angst where it REALLY belongs, and where they REALLY lost that game last year against the Rams. The blame goes SQUARELY on Sean Payton, and that "stats whore" they have under center, Drew Brees. Three times, I believe, in the first quarter they got into the red zone, and came away with 2 FG's. Right before half, they were up 13-3, and gave up a TD with 10 seconds left in the first half, to cut the lead to 13-10. I said at that point, I would not be surprised to see the RAMS win this in the end. Now getting to the penalty (non penalty) they have been whining about. They had about 1:40 ? left in the game. As Colin Cowherd said, at that point, on the 22 yard line (or wherever they were), you are now playing the CLOCK, not the Rams. You are past the 2 minute warning, and the Rams only had two time outs. RUN THE DAMN BALL, force them to use the TO's. Get it down to about 20-25 seconds and kick the FG, if you don't get a first down. Instead, they try to pass, and get the clock stopped. Basically it gave the Rams a free time out, and the chance to drive down the field and get a tying FG for OT. Then, in OT, their "all world" QB, 18 year vet, makes a rookie mistake on 3rd down, and swings the ball in the air under pressure, and throws a pick at mid field. Rams march down get the winning FG on OT. I guarantee you had TB12 been the QB in that situation, he would have marched them down for a winning TD (see the AFCCG, later that day). But, as I have tried to mention this to them, they simply can not accept it. I have found it to be an exercise in utter futility, so I have just quit altogether. They simply will NEVER put the blame where it SQUARELY BELONGS, on Sean Payton, and that stats whore QB, whom they idolize.
