You can win with any of the top 15 QBs. If you’re waiting for Brady or Mahomes, good luck.Mayfield is an average starter…at best. Do you want the most important position in professional sports to be average for the Patriots?
games but no bowls, the last years are evidence of itYou can win with any of the top 15 QBs. If you’re waiting for Brady or Mahomes, good luck.
Chasing lightning in a bottle doesn’t preclude trying to win without it. And the Pats have the ammunition to put quality takent around him.
I think it’s anti productive to spend $30 m per yr on a QB that’s not going to be your starter year 2. That $ should be spent on other players. I’m not interested in finishing 8-9 in 2024 while our rookie QB sits. I want another high draft pick for the 2025 draft. Flacco would be better at $2.5 for one year, he’s played for AVP and has more knowledge to bestow upon the rookie. You can win with any of the top 15 QBs. He’d play in NE if the moneys right, with or without Baker. He'd play if we signed Mayfield.
I don't think so.He’d play in NE if the moneys right, with or without Baker.
If you get a QB better than that $30 million guy, it's a GOOD problem to have. A trade relieves you of the issue and teams are always looking for QBs for on reason or another.I think it’s anti productive to spend $30 m per yr on a QB that’s not going to be your starter year 2.

Yup. One or two out of the top four is likely to be better than Mayfield. Also, we have at best a 50% chance of getting one of those one or two QB's.How many QBs in this draft, do you think, will become better in the next three years tan Mayfield is right now? I will be surprised if it's any, shocked if it's two, and stunned if it's more than two.
The history of the Super Bowl has a lot of mediocre to bad QBs. Even the last 25 years:games but no bowls, the last years are evidence of it
And you’re also immediately grossly over paying this QB. Compared to being able to get a rookie QB for far cheaper.Average to above average is a big step in the right direction.
That's fair. Comes down to what you would pay him. Is 27-30 mil a year an over pay. I think jared Goff is at 33 mil and I think in Detroit Baker is better than GoffAnd you’re also immediately grossly over paying this QB. Compared to being able to get a rookie QB for far cheaper.
