Now alot of people will say did OSU deserve to be in this game.

If anything, it looks like the Big 10 didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. If PSU can't salvage a Rose Bowl victory, then it will be an absolute disaster for that conference which held 4 of the top-8 spots in the rankings before the bowl season began.

If we didn't have the college football playoff, then this year's national championship game would have been Alabama versus Ohio State; Clemson would have been screwed.

And before you say "but Clemson was the #2 seed!": The playoff committee had Clemson at #2 but every single poll and computer ranking system used by the BCS had OSU at #2. So without the playoffs, Clemson would have been left out of the party and the team that just got their asses beat would have been in.

The wait from the end of the regular season to the bowls is too long.

Dilutes the product. OSU isnt the first good team to come out like a pancake.

Games like this make me appreciate being a fan of the best NFL team of the past 17 years.

Had NE gone through such a woe, second half I would expect Brady to come out slinging short passes, dink and dunk, getting that front 7 to play honest and tired.

Unfortunately, OSU and arguably 95% of QB's, even the NFL, can't be spot on with assessing mismatches for such an offensive plan

It's a silly barometer to use in gauging an NFL team, of course, but still. It's so nice to have that option when it comes to crunch time for NE.

I don't watch or follow college football like I do the NFL, but there is one truth that I've found. OSU absolutely did not belong in the "playoffs" this year. But that can be said for most years. It seems that the CFB powers are overloaded with OSU homers as is ESPN.

As for Clemson, I agree with the tweet from PatriotsSB51 regarding Watson. can we say Jamarcus Russell 2.0. Horrible mechanics, no touch, no timing.

It needs to be the top 12 teams regardless of conference. There was no need for OSU to be in it this year. They were outplayed by Michigan and Michigan State and were embarassingly outclassed last night. Penn State should have been in instead of them.

I dunno. I've seen them struggle before without running the ball (Elliot's last home game), but I didn't expect that type of physical domination in the trenches.
