You don't think owners are more likely to ignore the survey results if no one knows about them?
It's the owners' team, a private enterprise. They may choose what proprietary information or internal communicaitions they wish to share. Aside from fodder for sports gossip, there is no benefit. 90% of public discourse these days in our decadent country is asinine celebrity crap and other sundry jabber as it is. No need to exacerbate the problem by giving the yappers something else to whine about.

Owners who think they have to shut employees up generally have a reason for it. Employers who keep the lines of communication open generally have nothing to fear from their employees talking.

The mere fact that the NFLPA has existed since 1956 is a paper trailer enough of existing negotiations, something that wasn't even recognized by the NFL until 1968, showing that it took 12 years to get the asses of the ownership to respect the players. From the get-go, this partnership was marqueed by owners being stingy.

"The owners, for their part, were immediately antagonistic to the concept of a players' union — a position epitomized when Miller, then an assistant coach with the Cleveland Browns, was removed from the team's annual photo at the insistence of head coach and general manager Paul Brown." (Source: https://www.nytimes.com/1982/09/26/sports/sports-of-the-times-the-erased-labor-leader.html)

"Miller and other union founders were taken aback by Paul Brown's staunch view that "it was both just and necessary that management could cut, trade, bench, blackball, and own in perpetuity anyone and everyone that it wanted" (Source: Piascik, Andy (2007). The Best Show in Football: The 1946–1955 Cleveland Browns. Lanham, MD: Taylor Trade Publishing. ISBN 978-1-58979-571-6.)

The lanes have been exhausted for decades. If you want my honest opinion, the NFLPA could do so much more in the form of public pressure, and should. These are the same people that want you to pay for their stadiums, something that has been proven time and time again to not actually benefit their locales in a majority of cases.l

You're not saying anything to prove its efficacy is dubious. There is substantial evidence of public pressure working for organized workers, the onus here is on anyone who wants to prove otherwise. These are years-long fights that are multi-pronged.

There are three things I am left to assume here: you've not engaged in long union struggles, or if you did, you weren't really participating with your co-workers. Or, you just happen to have an employer that did the responsible thing and fairly bargain with you. If it's the last part, that's the difference here: the owners of the NFL have rarely - if ever - acted in good faith to their workers.
lol. They exist therefore they took the steps you want to say they took.

So your argument is that the NFLPA thinks players are mistreated regarding facilities, free food, etc and have fought through collective bargaining for decades to improve it, but gave in every time, so instead decided they would create a survey their members could fill about how management treats them so they could publicly expose how bad all the free stuff they get is, and create sympathy among the general population who feel they are oppressed by low quality free stuff while being paid millions, and that will show them? Seriously?

The onus isn’t what you want the onus to be. But to clarify you are equating NFL players with “organized workers” who gained benefits by public pressure. You think that the public is as sympathetic toward quarterbacks as they are toward coal miners?

Look I understand you owe your paycheck to unions. Good for you.
But this tactic is ill conceived and ineffective for the NFLPA.

I think any company owner would object to employees publicly criticize the company.

Sorry, I was being too simplistic. Yes, it encompasses a lot of the procedures and things like that. But ultimately, these decisions come down to money one way or another. In your example, the owners gave up the padded practices to increase the revenue of the league through an extra game and expanded playoffs. It all goes back to money.

What it doesn't go back to is how anonymous players filled out a survey about the Patriots workout room which then goes public.
Still too simplistic. The money is pretty well settled at this point with the revenue sharing agreement. What happens is every new CBA both sides come in with a small change in the split, and their other demands. Then they negotiate giving up the change in the split to get some of their other demands.

And yet, Indeed's company reviews by employees still exist and haven't been sued out of existence. Weird.

Way more excuse-making for the poor, downtrodden owners trying to get away with serving bologna sandwiches to their players like a prison in this thread, than I expected.

Perhaps he has a set of balls and isn’t afraid to debate an idea.

(sigh)
A little self awareness and a sense of humor and your world might well be a happier place.
For the record my balls are just fine resting comfortably in my wife's purse as usual for safe keeping. It's not a lack of testicular fortitude on my part that keeps me from debating you Andy, it's a lack of masochism and a plethora of common sense. As this is my 2nd response to you in this thread you may now declare victory in your usual fashion.

Yes I really should develop a sense of humor towards someone who follows me around the site disparaging me every chance they get.
Go buy yourself some of that self awareness.

And the guy who runs away from every debate, runs again with an excuse about it being someone else’s fault.

Bye.

Also hard to understand the sympathy for the millionaires complaining about their free food too.

Yeah, those millionaires, literally the single reason those BILLIONAIRES have those billions, are in the facility 12-14 hours a day. How dare they eat for free, especially when nutrition is important to their job.

Btw- in Arizona, they charge their players for food.

Your argument, just then, was 'Owners shouldn't be held accountable, because the employees get free food'. That's literally the corporate pizza party argument.

The billionaire were billionaire before they became owners.

You seem to think the owners are obligated to feed them rather than doing it because it’s good for everyone.

That’s not what I said. I said they are being given food for free and complaining about the quality of the free food. That’s literally the welfare recipient saying you should pay more taxes argument.

Lick those boots, my dude, maybe they'll toss you a few crumbs for your loyalty.

Anyway, that's my two.

What an ignorant response.

Sorry if the welfare comment hit too hard.

Money plays a big role - but you might remember that the number of padded practices was an issue they tweeked during a contract dispute. Just one example...
They also wanted to be able to smoke some weed.
