but almost as much if the cops saw sex trafficking why does the sting continue?
Who else is sweating bullets right now?
this is how you stop these places actually.. And they are in fact very seriously bad crimes happening to these trafficked women.Law enforcement should use their resources to go after the head of the snake, not busting decent senior citizen widowers for rub and tugs.
Because in the country within which we live, you have to gather large amounts of evidence in order to successfully prosecute something like this. That's just how law enforcement works in the real world.RE: the Sex Trafficking stuff, that upsets me.
It upsets me that sex trafficking is happening. But almost as much if the cops saw sex trafficking why does the sting continue? I don't give a **** about some old bastard paying $50 for a happy ending but if cops see sex trafficking going on why doesn't the sting stop right there and they go after the people who are running the parlor?
Schefter said it on TV.He says ESPN is the source but I don't see anything on their website or Twitter feed alleging this.
It’s a freaking Asian massage parlor, dude. They’ve been around for decades. People go in to get a massage and the opportunity for a happy ending can sometimes present itself. They’re in every town in America. Forever.I find it hard to believe you're that dense but I'll spell it out for you: The point is many of these women were not there voluntarily or consenting to work as prostitutes. They were intimidated and forced against their will after being brought to the US on false pretenses of legitimate job opportunities (according to official law enforcement statements about the investigation). It's a standard tactic when it comes to sex trafficking.
That only makes him complicit in the same sense that you eating meat that you know was raised and slaughtered in inhumane, cruel ways makes you complicit in animal cruelty. I can't believe I'm defending a billionaire here, but I can say with confidence he's not a goddamn human trafficker.
Whoever disliked/disagreed with my comment, wake up. he goes to a spa full of asian women. do you really think Bob didn’t know they were traffiked? most of these places are like that.
"Mr. Kraft was said to have patronized a spa called Orchids of Asia, in Jupiter. The police said Mr. Kraft visited a spa in Jupiter twice, dropped off by a driver."Since some of you don't get what the big deal is because you can't be bothered to read a news article:
The charges against Mr. Kraft, 77, were part of a broad investigation into prostitution and human trafficking in day spas and massage parlors in Florida. The police say the parlors were used for prostitution, and that many of the women involved were considered to be victims.
The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, and resulted in raids and arrests connected to nearly a dozen businesses in the region this week. At least one person, Lanyun Ma, 49, was charged with human trafficking.
All of the sexual encounters that have resulted in charges were videotaped as part of the investigation, the police said. The police, who said they had been investigating massage parlors in the area for six months, arrested “nearly 200” people, though only 25 have been charged so far.

Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Charged in Florida Prostitution Sting
Vero Beach police chief David Currey said many came from China on temporary work visas, indebted to the the brokers who helped them reach America, but believing legitimate jobs awaited them.
“Some of them are trying to make a better life for themselves,” he said. “These people truly are stuck.”
They were shamed, intimidated and taught not to speak to law enforcement or immigration officials.
Others answered what they thought were legitimate ads for masseuse jobs, but soon were pressured into doing more.
Who knows. Maybe he figured with his power he could get away with this. Or to your point he is so insulated and out of touch with reality he didn't even think that this place harbored/employed slaves or was being watched by the cops. Who knows.IDK. Bob strikes me as a bit naive, despite his riches, and this little episode (and everyone's comments about why would a billionaire even visit a place like this) just confirms it. Not that I would visit such a place, but the first thing that would come to my mind is not, "hmmm, I wonder if all these ladies are victims of human trafficking?"
Bill's boat is in Jupiter.
