He’s charged with two misdeameanors, not trafficking in humans. Jim Irsay was caught passed out at a stop with $30,000 worth of pharmaceuticals, and his mistress had just died of an overdose. He most likely provided the opioids that killed her. He got 6 games.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. If you were born poor in a 3rd world country where prostitution isn't really considered a big deal and you chose to do it rather than work in a factory. No, I don't consider it duress.

If you were plucked from an orphanage by MS13 goons and were subjected to beatings if you didn't do what they want, that's duress.

This is coercion if the reports are true and understand that's what you're talking about. Even if their initial choice was prostitution, the "choice" is quickly taken away. They don't control their bodies once that world is entered...there are no more choices. There is no quitting. If you can't quit, what's the choice? Or are you saying that because they made that choice, they have given up their right to have any choices beyond that one?

Also, when the police use the term "sex trafficking" it has a well-defined meaning. It means that force, coercion or debt was used. Otherwise it's called prostitution. They don't just throw out that term to cover all cases.

I was actually at Gillette on Friday when the story broke. I took my kids to the Patriots Hall of Fame. We were actually approached by some news broadcasters on our way to the car. Sure enough, I saw myself on TV (I wasn't sure I'd make the cut since I don't feel I gave them any interesting tidbits, since I didn't really know much about the story at the time).

Irsay's troubles really were deep and glossed over. The high end of Kraft's suspension needs to be what Irsay got.

We all know about the DUI, the drug possession, and the bag of cash in the car.

Do you know... He had a regular "personal masseuse" aka call girl. At one point he hired the masseuse's sister as his babysitter. Right away he started hitting on that babysitter, did tons of drugs with her, ended up buying her homes (plural) in the Indy area.

Then she died of a drug overdose, shortly before Irsay was arrested.

Hookers, banging babysitters, coke, opioids, bags of cash, driving under the influence, drug peddling leading to a death... 6 games!

If you are mad or concerned just because the perception of other teams fan bases, or just the rest of the country who already don’t like the Pats, you probably are too thin skinned to support this team anyway. If the old man wants to risk trouble with the law over a BJ, then he kind of deserve what’s coming to him. Personally, I’m proud as hell of this team, and i don’t feel it and any success is defined by our owner and his stupid decisions.

The team is defined by the on-field success we’ve seen from the team, most specifically the last 20 some years.

If some fans can’t support what the memorabilia really stands for, they should hand the gear over to real fans. The gear doesn’t say New England Krafts. If you don’t wanna buy gear because you don’t want anything going to kraft personally, whatever; but if you’re too embarrassed to wear the gear NOW, I don’t think you embody the true New England Patriots fan, IMO.

I find it comical that some people are still believing the idea that he solicited anything but a massage.. Supposedly he "negotiated" for prices where the total transaction was $59 -$79. That's the price for half hour to 45 minute massage in most places.. Yet, we're supposed to believe that the prices were to include a happy ending as well???

If it is him on video, then the price is more comical than believing that a billionaire goes to strip mall massage parlor that is well known in that community for its "menu" and he went to this place because he liked the massages so much that he ignored the supposed questionable hygienic conditions?

There's very little chance that Kraft or any other patrons had any idea there was sex trafficking going on and there's a lot of 'sex trafficking' that isn't women chained to walls and fed gruel. This was a massage parlor in a strip mall that had been there for years.

If you think you haven't inadvertently or indirectly supported human trafficking, sweatshops or slavery then you are either incredibly lucky, buy almost no goods or aren't paying attention. That's not meant to dismiss our complicity, far from it. I know I haven't been conscientious enough - I didn't stop buying avocados when the stuff came out about cartels taking over avocado farms.

But let's throttle back on the outrage and the use of a lot of loaded terms. Unless you think Kraft was knowingly going somewhere he thought was engaged in sex trafficking you should probably cut him some of the same slack you cut yourselves.

Over the last few years his ridiculous public statements about the team and the goat being railroaded followed by doing absolutely nothing about it.
Then his “girlfriend” who is 50 years younger gets pregnant by another guy.
Then he is filmed “acting” with her, saying stupid ****.
Now he is caught in a prostitution sting.

He is a never ending stream of bad publicity.

Those closest to him should suggest that it’s time to fade away into obscurity.
