Khalil Mack traded to Chicago

Marcus Davenport, Trubisky & others have fetched a lot more & they didn't play a down in the league.
Other bad trades aren’t evidence of a good trade. Those guys didn’t come with a 20 mill+ price tag. That matters.

They are mortgaging the future in the wrong timing. They should be looking to build a team looking 2-3 years down the road.

The Vikings is the better team in that division and just got a proven QB and the defense that was already strong got stronger. They are favorites over GB to win the division IMO.

And GB is a team with a great QB, a HOF in his prime.

They are making this move to not even making the playoffs. Facepalm.

Naw. I think they have a good team right now and even better on defense. They added a wideout whe healthy could be a player. It’s all about trubisky. What can he do his second year.

We gave up leverage for insurance. Your crazy if you you think we couldn't have got more if we traded him earlier.
They were never offered a 1st rounder. I don't believe the CLE reports one bit

The Raiders have $100 million for Gruden but don't want to pay Mack. This is gonna go great

Coaches don’t count against the cap

How did they fetch more?
Trubisky was 2 3rd a 4th and a 1 spot move up.

This makes me mad to only get a second for Grap.
Mack needs paid right away and they got 2 1sts and a player.

Mack is arguably one of the two or three best defensive players in the league. We don't even know if Jimmy G will be more than an average QB. Even now.

Plus, Mack can go into Chicago and play right away without learning the playbook. There was no guarantee that Garropolo would have picked up the playbook enough to play at all last year.

The Pats own the Bears Second rd pick next year from a draft day trade. Ergo Mack on the Bears is probably gong to mean a few more wins, hence a lower pick going to the Pats.

Plus of course, the Pats must now face Mack in week 7

They still have Tribisky.

Not sold on him or the offense.

Mack is great but he's not worth ~15% of a team's cap space. I say it's a good move by Gruden (provided the return is massive).

Granted that contract details have not been revealed, but this reminds of when the Bears signed Julius Peppers to a blockbuster deal.

Why are people still sour about JG trade? People are sour about Brissett trade. WTF?!?! They worth more BECAUSE we traded them and they played decent. "Why didn't we trade them for?"
Others did not offer more, stupid.

I bet the Raider’s locker will be down on this move. GMs (and some fans) love picks, but players usually love playmakers. Might be a rough year in Oakland.

But - if it’s two first rounders for a guy who wasn’t even talking to the coach.... seems like the Raiders did alright. They can get two more Kolten Millers !

It will only get worse as the season goes on. People on this board are still in denial that Jimmy G is good. Even if he has success this season, people will now say, “we’ll its only one season”.

And the 49ers just admitted they were prepared to trade more to the Patriots. But because the Patriots only said “second round pick” the 9ers accepted.

He didn't set anything on fire last season going 7:5 TD/INT. And now teams will have an entire offseason and tape to prepare for him. This season will be pretty telling if he is a good QB or not.

They did trade more to the Patriots. They ate 10m of Hoyers salary and released him so the Pats could sign him at essentially no cost. Without that there is no JG trade.

The thing that makes people sour on the JG trade is the reports that Bill never shopped him. He called John Lynch in S.F. and made the deal. We may have been able to get more from a team like the Browns or Cards if Bill had shopped him around.
