OT: Caleb Williams didn't want the Bears to draft him

Huh... didn't know he played guitar... a real renaissance man... gotta say though, Caleb is really leaning into this Purple/Minnesota thing, isn't he?

Say what you will, that 'Prince' (or the artist formerly known as) got more 'derriere' than a toilet seat at Madison Square Garden
So yeah, maybe that purple thing has something going on

I tried the Prince look once, didn't work for me...

Of course it didn't, you forgot the purple. The purple is like 'The Rug' it ties things together

Its fine to be c o c k y and exhume confidence.

But, Williams strikes me as having Sheduer Sanders arrogance. Neither has accomplished jack 5hit in the NFL, but they demand all this respect. I believe Chicago took the wrong QB again.

Ben Johnson expressed that he was not impressed with Jayden Daniels predraft.
I think Ben Johnson is going to get exposed as an offensive fraud. I liked him in Detroit until injuries piled up on defense and now they couldn't run plays like it was originally scripted as a front running team. Goff is not a drop back/take over a game passer when adversity strikes and you saw Johnson's trick plays back fire during the playoffs.

Ben Johnson has never been a Head Coach, and most people forget about that fact.
I'm a manager, I've seen good to great workers get promoted to Project Manager, and they just fall on their face making sh!tloads of dumb decisions.
They're just out of their element, and aren't the person that is needed, they just don't get it, and never should have been given the position...not for lack of effort, just not good at all that entails.
Is Ben Johnson going to be a good HC?
I dunno, we'll see, but many others that were good/great co-ordinators, have failed BADLY as the lead guy.
We've seen it many times.

We'll see.
We got the guy I wanted, someone that has proved to have HC Skills.

Bears fans will lose their minds if Johnson fails.

If a coach has the talent he will succeed.
Bears have the talent.
BJ knows how to use them.
They will be a playoff team and Caleb will pass for over 5k yards

The Bears OL might not be fixed.

Chicago is learning a totally new offense. That takes time.

If he was that desperate to get out of the draft, he should have challenged the whole thing in federal court.

It would have been a Hail Mary, but every once in a long while, Hail Mary’s score touchdowns.

I highly doubt this report is reliable. Everyone wants to be the first pick and I’d almost be willing to bet if you were bored enough, you could find a quote claiming he’d love to be the 1st player off the board.

As far as the report of him and not being told what tape to watch I’m skeptical. That’s a pretty damaging accusation to the offensive coaches if true. If not, it’s a pretty damaging claim.

Tbh, it smells kind of weird like he’s deflecting scrutiny on the old regime. Not a good look but he’s young.

I agree that kids want to be the first pick, but I think some kids don’t want to play in cold weather, and Williams is one of them.

He pretty much nailed the Patriots drama

He got some pieces right, but he was dead wrong on Belichick wanting to keep Garrapolo and trade Brady to the 49ers. Belichick laughed at John Lynch when he brought that up.

The Bears might come to realize they’ll wish they hadn’t drafted Caleb Williams.

It won’t shock me if, despite the big team makeover and investment, he still throws a lot of interceptions and stinks. He seems like a lot of hype without much substance, plus he’s kind of short.

They might be better off with his backup, Tyson Bagent, we’ll see.
