I'll give them Kneal Harry & a 2023 3rd with conditions that would raise it to a 2nd-rounder based on team- and individual-based performance...

But only if the Fail-cons ass-ume 50% of his 2021 salary.

The Rams don’t usually care about blowing draft picks or cap space but they have no first round pick to give until 2024. The Titans don’t like to pay big bucks to non-QBs and also only have about $131 of cap space.

In league circles, the current expectation is that, eventually, the Falcons will send Jones to the Titans for a second-round pick.

Fitting him under that cap would be impressive, though not impossible, given that this number is closer to zero, when taking into account the money that they need to set aside for performance bonuses. The Titans have never been a team to kick the salary can down the road. They likely would expect Atlanta to pick up 5+ million dollars of Julio’s salary, and it seems more likely than not that they could get a second round pick from some of the team without that stipulation.

Finally, you just posting a link from PFT.com like it is some type of mic drop is kind of funny, given the number of times Florio has been wrong. The reality is that nobody knows right now and lying season hasn’t ended.

Calm down, man. I just posted it as an FYI.

I will puke if he goes to the Titans/Raiders/Chiefs for a 2nd.

And just like that, he’s a Titan.

and just like that, he's a Patriot while they are getting Tannenhill to agree to restructuring his deal

So according to Reiss we were offering a 2nd + Stidham (a broken 4th round pick who Bill wouldn't even start last year when we were out of the playoffs). Why aren't we offering Gilmore or Jonathan Jones? If we really want Jones then we have to actually pay. The market is hot for the guy so a second + a broken back up QB is not going to get it done. This was the same thing with Stafford. We put out a lukewarm offer on a guy who was hot and of course we were rejected.

Sometimes I think this is just PR by the Pats/Bill/Kraft. They know the fanbase is clamoring for an A type of receiver of Jones ilk so they make just enough of an offer to seem like they want the guy but in reality they know they will be rejected. The stories saying we were the number one bet to land Jones was just PR spin to make it look like we were outbidded by teams who paid too much for Jones when in reality we never were interested in making an actual, real offer to land the guy.
