I'd like gisikie at TE, Murphy-bunting at corner.I'm glad Jonnu is gone but he leaves behind a $12.8 mil dead cap hit. Just a completely awful signing.
Now filling that TE1b spot is going to be very important. Dalton Schultz is probably a pipe dream but Henry and Schultz would be a TE duo worth talking about.
I want to say Derek burgess? It was him, Shawn Springs and one other guy that were locker room lawyers. I don't remember the 3rd guy.

@Steve:Section 102 and this was year rodney & bruschi retired.. had he been in that locker room those guys would be handled.. accordinglyIt was him, Shawn Springs and one other guy that were locker room lawyers. I don't remember the 3rd guy.
It is awesome that the cap hit is gone after this year. What a waist of moneyDead Cap 13M$ and only 4,4M$ savings
We got a 7th round pick in return. That's it. Honestly, I'm relieved. I was afraid the Patriots would have to GIVE UP a draft pick to unload Jonnu. That's how bad he was for us!Does anyone know, do we only get a ca

There are some really good TEs in this draft class. Priorities remain LT and WR1. But if we get a premium WR in round 1, free agency, or trade, then TE could be a decent choice in the 2nd round. BB hasn't drafted a good TE since Gronk in 2010, so it's been 13 years now...I don’t think we go TE at 14 but I do think it’s in play with either a trade down or Day 2.

A third of the NFL is made up of UDFA's.It still amazes me how many late round picks and UDFAs end up being impact players.
They gave us a ring and we gave them the second rounder for Sanu and this freebie in form of Jonnu who could in all probabilities produce this year.
Some ammo for the h8rs:
Our cap situation is improved by $3.7m in 2023 as compared to keeping Smith (according to Miguel). The dead money just reflects prepaid bonus money - we owned that cap impact whether he stayed or left.Is $13M dead cap hit for real??
What a disaster. The only way to replace that spot is draft. Can't afford a decent FA now. We have Sokol as low-end competition, and Scotty Washington showed up in one game. But I'd like to see us either trade down and get Mayer in later 1st round, or Kraft in 3rd round.
I could definitely see Bill drooling about his potential. I don’t think that Washington will ever be the receiving threat that Gronk was but he could perhaps be a Bavaro type TE (elite blocker, good but not elite as a receiver), and we know how Bill feels about him.
