Im late to the party obviously and very confused. Why not earlier? What else is happening? What if Brady goes down? Where is my wife? Who the hell are you people?

Sorry if this was already posted and I think he since deleted it but...

Jaime is bitter that he is stuck in Cleveland (regardless of the money). I don't blame him.

Oh no, we wont win with our backup.
Thats been going on for 17 years. Did you just start following the team?
Come on, you know we're winning with Bledsoe's backup, and have been for seventeen years.

So now we have no back up QB? And 1 second round pick? No other players were added?
Hoyer was cut instead of included for financial reasons but will be here as the backup

Hoyer... really? He sucks, we can't win with him.

Most backup QBs suck. That's why they are backups. He makes the most sense in the short term. He knows the system and they know him. There will be no surprises. Bill gambled this season on the proposal that a 40 year old QB will stay healthy in exchange for a second round pick. Now that JG is gone, the Pats season is over if Brady goes down for the season, regardless of who the backup is.

I'm over Jimmy G to me he's just a jag QB in San Fran now.
Will root for Jim to lose every game this season by 1 point or more.

If anyone is feeling down about the trade, I recommend you watch Simian throwing into the stands in garbage time. Cheered me right up.
He's been doing that all game. Including when he had a shot at leading a comeback.

Brian Hoyer was originally part of the trade but the Pats asked him to be removed from the deal so that they don't lose a 3rd round comp pick (I don't know how that works). Brian Hoyer has been instead released from the 49ers and it is believed he will sign with the Patriots as a FA and SF will end up picking up some of his salary if I understand that correctly.

In short Brian Hoyer will most likely be the back up QB.

Based on the way it all went down and the situation itself (we now need a backup, Hoyer is now free, Hoyer is well acquainted and likes the Patriots, BB likes him), unless someone comes in to scoop him up for $$$$ or Hoyer is going to retire, hard to see this deal not as a de facto Hoyer return.

I won't lie, with this trade it does feel good to get the whole discussion out of the way and more importantly it seems that as long as TB12 is still good, he'll he retire in a Patriots uniform. That is a comforting thought.

The prospect of seeing Brady in another jersey is sickening. Glad that isn't likely to ever happen.

I hope we slso sign the kid we brought in from the Vikings as well as Hoyer.

I thought that kid had potential!

Ps: Finley from nc state, you are 6 months away from a new address somewhere in the vicinity of foxboro!

Jamie Collins is miserable In Cleveland.
At least San Fran has a winning history and a good foundation.

I highly doubt he is miserable. He got a boatload of money. He's probably ecstatic. You assume all players value winning the way we do. That just isn't true. in a lot of cases we (fans) care far more about winning than some of the players do. Remember, it has been reported that this is a guy who does not care about football.

Well said Sup. But your "doubt" isn't well founded because I had heard Mike Ditka called up the Bears and convinced them to trade every single 2018 pick for JG. It's appalling that BB would pass that up....
Yeah, there was some weird stuff that went on back in the pre-cap and early-cap eras.

I just think that if you’re another team who’s considering parting with 2 first rounders, why not just go for broke and pick up a better QB? I guess they’d have to believe that JG was really going to be the savior of the franchise.
