one thing to say.....Brian Hoyer...welcome back to the Patriots (in all likelyhood)

d%#*!@t. I am very, very, VERY disappointed in this.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yeah this move doesn't make this years football team better which is what BB always looks at. Unless there is more coming (possible) I really feel it speaks to how they view the season.

That seems weird to me, though. They're really the Cleveland Browns in name only, not a single person associated with the original franchise is involved with the new one. If anything he should have been peeved at the Ravens while Modell still owned the team.

Unless the real ire of Belichick is the Cleveland media. In which case, carry on....
And didn’t the pats just trade Collins last season to the browns at the deadline?

You can't pay 2 quarterbacks, Jimmy G was never taking a discount to sit on the bench.

It was obvious the Patriots had to pick one by the start of next year, they chose Brady, this pick will be 1st or 2nd pick of the 2nd round, so it's not that bad a pick for a guy in the last year.

I think all those multiple first rounders was just talk.

Per Schefter, they attempted to sign Jimmy but couldn't reach an agreement. Soooo, take the 2nd round pick or get absolutely nothing for him after this season? Bill's decision makes perfect sense to me.

Brady has been taking a lot of hits this season. I don't like this move at all. They could have traded this guy in the offseason unless they're trading for a major piece here.
No way he could've been traded in the offseason. He'd be a free agent.

2018 top of the 2nd round pick with this trade

2019 end of the 3rd round pick if he walked

Big difference.

As opposed to having no shot if your starter goes down.......it’s not that much given the way this team handles draft picks

Bill and Kraft are Trumptards. I wouldn't hold your breath.

I don't think 2017 Kaep is a winning football player, BUT

We know Bill loves a bargain. Possibly more than having everyone standing up for the anthem.
We learned this week that Bill prefers winning.
If there's any locker room in the league that can enforce a STFU policy, it's this one.
Kaep is probably a better football player than any QB that can be easily signed with the possible exception of Hoyer.
Devin McCourty isn't standing for the anthem, so what's the difference? All the other owners and fanbases will hate us? They already do!
Signing Kaep would probably somehow create a bigger cluster-f for Goodell, and that would make me smile.
When has Bill cared what anyone else thinks about anything?

Bob Kraft is a different issue. I'd expect that Bill would look into signing Kaep if he thought he was significantly better than Hoyer. I don't think Bill thinks Kaep is better than Hoyer for this team, though, so it's a moot point.

Can we trade Josh McDaniels to San Fran too???

This is depressing.

You’ll always be a Patriot Jimmy G. What you did for us when Brady was out won’t be forgotten by this Pats fan. (I still wax poetic about the 201 yard, 4 TD game Jonas gave us against the Indianapolis snitches)

I absolutely hate this trade. Do you mean to tell me that after all this preaseason drama, we only got a 2nd round pick out of the whole thing when it finally did happen?

Not a Brady fan, then?

Tune, I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with there. It was a joke, because Brady's the one still here.

Maybe the drama was not real

we always think there must something else in the works, but that never seems to be the case.
