I know there are holes. But the team is extremely young and almost all homegrown. I like where it sits now.

Lee wasn't bad and obviously still learning. Davis is the veteran surrounded by youngin's. No issue there.

Maybe the D could add a CB or two next season. Depends on how Claiborne and Skrine do this year. But I'm loving how the D is shaping up.

Oline? Guards are good. Center I think filled in well for Mangold last year for 8 games. RT could be set, but still need some experience. LT is the problem at the moment.

Powell is cool at RB. But RBs are a dime a dozen.

ASJ actually is looking good at TE.

WR is empty in terms of top talent, but Quincy is a good 2 or 3. The two rookies (Hansen and Stewart) look promising so far.

I see a young talented team missing the flashy/key pieces that will allow the team to "tank" while also developing.

You have to temper expectations for any rookie QB, but next year this team will be very similar roster-wise, but will also be tremendously improved at the key spots of QB/WR/LT...

Likely enough to be a playoff contender right away.
Guess what? WE DO NOT CARE! Your pipe-dream hopes, fantasies and delusions are of no interest to ANYONE in this thread but YOU. You are wasting your time.

Shoosh. I was discussing with Bacon.

Lots of imagination there, bubbelah.

You're a JETE fan... get back to savoring the offseason.

Hey, having a top pick, extra picks, and like 100mil in cap space to go along with a very young team is something to be excited about.

And yes... even a bit concerned too. Can't mess it up.

Didnt you guys also say Mark Sanchez was the guy?

That we can laugh at now.

I thought he was gonna be around for a while. Never figured he'd be a Peyton or anything. But after his early success, I figured we were looking at a solid mid-tier QB.

Oh well. And now we're ready to try again in 2018.

Its because the Jets organization destroys everything drafted to it. 2018 will be no different.

Actually based on his performances on his teams after the Jets, you could say the opposite. The Jets got more out of him than any other team.

Try again? What was wrong with these guys?

Ryan Fitzpatrick
Geno Smith
Bryce Petty
Michael Vick, after he was done
Mark Sanchez
Kellen Clemens
Brett Favrevruh, in between teams he wanted to play for
Chad Pennington
Brooks Bollinger
Vinny Testaverde
Quincy Carter...

That's your New Jersey Jete starters since Tom Brady has been starting in NE. He's been to 7 Super Bowls in that time, and won 5 of them. Lonnnnng stretch of time put into Pennington and Sanchez, and at least 2 years of the GeNO disaster... waiting for one of these guys to pan out...

And don't get me started on "Mangenius" and Wrecks Ryan, the coaches that were going to win it all for this derelict shipwreck of a franchise.

You guys are famous for "Let's go eat a goddam snack" and "BUTTFUMBLE." At some point before most of your fans were born, a gender-confused redneck drunk became important for 10 minutes because he said he "guaranteed" your team would win an exhibition game, and they actually won. That's not even a memory for most of you, it's an NYFL Films moment. You've watched that game you didn't attend so many times you actually think you "remember" that.

You know, since it's a Jersey team, I don't think I can do any better than Springsteen to describe your conundrum...

"You can hide 'neath your covers and study your pain
Make crosses from your lovers, throw roses in the rain
Waste your summer praying in vain
For a savior to rise from these streets..."

But unlike the Boss and the Mary of this song, you're stuck in the town full of losers. You're never "pullin' outta here to win."

Oh and by the way, in case you find these references dated... This song dates from six years AFTER the Jete were last relevant.

But you're excited! That's cute.

You win just from the Bruce reference alone.

The Jets channeled their inner Jets by pulling off a bone-headed move yet again.

The team with the single worst roster in the NFL traded away one of their three most talented players because the man in charge backed himself into a corner.

It was Mismanagement 101 on One Jets Drive for a star-crossed franchise still wandering through the wilderness in the hopes of locating a clue.

The saddest part of the team’s decision to trade former Pro Bowl defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson to the Seahawks for middling wide receiver Jermaine Kearse and a 2018 second-round draft pick (along with seventh-round swaps) on Friday? Some of the hearty souls forced to watch this outfit circle the drain have been conditioned to think that this was a smart move.

The biggest rumpswab Rat fan writer in NY...even HE has opened his eyes...

“We have some good young defensive linemen,” general manager Mike Maccagnan said. “Sheldon was a part of that. But, in return, it allowed us to sort of entertain options there.… Sometimes teams that have needs and surpluses find fits that work well for potential trades.”

The truth is the Jets bungled this situation so badly that some of the green-and-white clad zombies actually felt that this was a good return for a 26-year-old Pro Bowl defensive lineman.

Perhaps the franchise’s history of ineptitude has sapped those fine hard-working folks. Or maybe they just forgot how the Jets got themselves into this mess in the first place. Or perhaps they were simply resigned to the notion that, hey, this is the best we could get for a player who is actually good at football.

There were enough perturbed folks in the organization, however, unwilling to sip Maccagnan’s Kool-Aid, clear-thinking people, who watched a game-changer walk out of the building for a middling pass catcher, who’s never had more than 685 receiving yards in any of his five seasons in the league.

“You don’t let the most talented guys leave… especially at that position,” a team insider said of Richardson. “You try and find a way to make it work.”

These Jets evidently are allergic to good football players.

Aha! ...finally...an explanation that makes sense....the JETE need some hypoallergenic ass cream and they'll be right as rain...well, well, well...

If the Patriots ever did it, yes.

The NFL definition of "Integrity": Arbitrarily applied NFL standard, by former Jets "rump-swabs", that usually apply only to Patriots alleged transgressions even if the transgressions cannot be proven or defy proven science, because Goodell said so.

The resident troll and his 2018 pipe dream is just ludicrous.

I think his dream is to turn this thread in a different direction than it's intended purpose. Unfortunately for him the Jete are taking Suck to a new level. They really do have a chance to go 0-16.

Unlike the Jete this time, the Indy Suck for Luck team had enough players with talent to actually win a couple of games after they clinched #1.

The Jete are looking more like the Suck for Suck team.

Suck for Suck. Sounds like a good t-shirt for those jete fans.

Its funny. We have been to 9 Superbowls. We have won 5. The Jets are still looking for dance #2. Something we accomplished PRE BRADY

IF your Green Beans draft a quarterback early in the first round, he will be expected to start immediately and succeed immediately. No sage veteran to sit behind and learn from. Goofball owner, clown GM, mediocre coaching, stupid and impatient fan base. Team nickname taken from a Broadway musical. Not even their own city or stadium to identify with. It's a recipe for DISASTER!

Gee, that must suck.
