Losing that game was a win.

The loss gave them the 6th pick. With 2 or 3 QB hungry teams ahead of them. And there are at least 4 quality QB options in the draft.

Now I forget exactly, but I think a win would have moved them like 3 or 4 spots down in the draft order. Likely moving other QB hungry teams ahead of them. And certainly increasing the likelihood for other teams to trade up above them.

Not to mention the cost to move up themselves is cheaper now if the Jets want to.

Macc and Bowles were already secure.

Only bad would have come from a win.

Heaven forbid the Jete actually WIN a game during the football season against their primary divisional rival! Why, that would mess everything all up! Can't do anything that interferes with those ephemeral off-season fantasies of what MIGHT happen in the DRAFT!
