We always mock the Jets for 'winning the off-season' by throwing money around. Maybe the new guy (Idgit?) actually has a sound plan to build through the draft around the young front 7 talent that they already have. They aren't close enough that DRC was going to make any difference.
Of course Rex doesn't like it, he doesn't have the time for a rebuild. He knows he's likely a goner if they don't make the playoffs.
I only hope that Rex has pictures of Woody Johnson's wife's feet and Zidjik gets canned instead.
The Jets are exactly like the Yankees. Except for the winning part. And history and all that. But they chuck money around!
DRC is young enough that he could easily be around for the full 5 years. How would having a man corner around in a man corner system not help?
My point is that not signing DRC is not the end of the world for them. If the Giants paid 8 should they have paid 9?
You don't build a team by over-paying for guys that aren't difference makers.
If he had signed with them, great, they got a CB. But those guys seem ready to jump off a bridge over a guy who's less willing to tackle than the other Cromartie.
https://twitter.com/MMehtaNYDN/status/445694671990571008Friend of Rex Ryan chimes in on news Jets couldn't land Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (or any legit CB in free agency): "Rex is pissed." #nyj
At some point, they're going to have to go back to the Cro they cut.
This makes no sense. Wrecks looks plenty bad enough without any plans against him, secret or otherwise. I mean, the things he does himself that look bad certainly aren't secret. Some Jets fans convinced this is the secret plan to make Rex look bad.
