Stop it with your irrational Brady hatred; you're embarrassing yourself.

Dude was given a "real shot" last season but wasn't ready, period.
All i said is it would have been nice. Nothing more.

I think his stats are a bit inflated due to the dire status of the roster currently, but he's earned himself a role (even if the role is small) in a hypothetical overhauled WR group next year.
I think the dire status of the roster makes his stats more impressive, not less.

Why would his role be small moving forward. In no universe except McDaniels' mind does it not make sense to permanently make Meyers the starter. Harry can stay in the infirmary forever...

Did you miss the part where I said "hypothetical" and specified it wouldn't be this season? His role would be small because in this scenario, we acquired receivers who are better than him. Also in this scenario, Harry would probably be cut or traded for a conditional 7.

I think yesterday is as good as our offense will probably look at this point. Let Byrd and Meyers remain the starters and work in Harry, Zuber, and Gunner. See who fits into whatever roles for next year while (hopefully) adding a veteran and and a rookie for next year. Hopefully soon we work in the tight ends and keep pounding the ball with Harris and with White and Burkhead as the change of pace/third down guys. It won’t set any records but hopefully we see who is worth keeping around.

That's definitely possible. Theoretically, if there's only one good receiving threat on the field, the defense should focus on keeping him from getting open. I think we saw last night that the Jets didn't see him that way (or if they did, they failed spectacularly to contain him).

Or perhaps Meyers has a better grasp of the playbook & route combinations & scramble drills this season than he had last season, when he obviously didn't have nearly as good a grasp of them...
Thanks, coach...

Jacoby shows a similar promise to Edelman when he was first brought up. He shows poise and strength in the slot role in the same way Edelman did when he was just finding his legs.

We underestimated the hell out of Edelman too.

Meyers is playing great ! He could be a very good # 3 Slot / #2 for years to come. We need a real legit #1 to play against top CB's so Meyers won't get killed. Byrd is an ok 4 or 5. Reiss seems to think Ford is better then Byrd.
