Knew the kid was good. 169 yards, and the prior 2 weeks 60 yards and 58 yards receiving. We've had a 1000 yard WR on the roster the whole time buried by our clueless OC for the first 6 weeks. Same thing with the beast Damien Harris - buried behind Sony and only played because Sony was IR'd. Harris has averaged over 5 yards a carry in every single game he's played.

Very good chance Asiasi is a good tight end given how wrong the OC is in evaluating who is good and who is bad.

Kudos to Jacobi Meyers. 50X better than NKeal Harry.

.

I think his stats are a bit inflated due to the dire status of the roster currently, but he's earned himself a role (even if the role is small) in a hypothetical overhauled WR group next year.

you are wrong with your percentage...I don't think it's quantifiable....maybe 12 figures. Harry is a distant memory

He runs his route-tree so well, and really sells those little fakes and changes of direction. He was on a mission tonight. He's great.

Meyers can actually get open and catch. Harry looks strong but is slow, can't get open, and doesn't fight for the ball. It's not even close. It's insane McDaniels didn't see this. Force feeding handoffs to Harry. Meyers only played because Harry got hurt. Same with Damien Harris only got playing time bc Sony got hurt

Why would his role be small moving forward. In no universe except McDaniels' mind does it not make sense to permanently make Meyers the starter. Harry can stay in the infirmary forever...

Belichick picked Harry in the first round, you really think mcdaniels has the power to bench his first round pick? Harry was out there because of BB. Hopefully now he sees how much better Meyers is.

McDaniels influences the game plan. All those crap hand off plays to Harry are definitely McDaniels not Belichick. McD helped pick Harry, looks like a total jackass now about it, was trying to cover his ass. It's obvious Meyers is 50X better than Harry

You know we can celebrate Meyers without denigrating Harry. Happy birthday to the young man. He made the most of his opportunity! :)

Also. They're asked to run different routes. Byrd was taking most of the role Harry usually does. But I'm not interested in a long back and forth, so I'll probably just leave this thread.

McDaniels is so good that he can actually design plays that find space for this bunch of misfits. The offense is all McDaniels. There is absolutely no evidence that he was playing favorites with one guy over the other. More than likely all the coaches, or just BB, needed to see what they had in their former #1 pick.

Put it this way: if the Bucs OCs weren't absolutely idiotic, they'd use all that talent to spread the field instead of running the same weak stuff over and over. McDaniels would be brilliant there and most anywhere.

It's a shame it took Harry getting injured to get this guy more involved, one of the few bright spots this year along with Byrd. If we ever do get a legit #1 these guys would be great complimentary pieces in the passing game moving forth and we would actually have a pretty good set.
