Jack Jones News Update Thread

Yes and I gave you my reasons. It's not an arbitrary opinion. Keeping Jones around is bad for the team (for the reasons I stated).

It wouldn't for the play on the field but that's not point here. We're not debating his ability to play. We're debating his character, his conduct, the criminal charges, and whether or not he should be cut from the team for those issues.

I disagree. My understanding is there's a video recording, that if released, would completely ruin his reputation and make him the butt of jokes.

I'll tell you right now it's a bad pick, I don't have to wait until he's cut. The way I see it right now, the player isn't long for the team, or maybe for the NFL, so Bill gambled on the pick (of a player with questionable character) and it didn't work out. That's a bad pick. But so what, I don't think that's the main point here, Bill has made many, many bad picks so I don't think we need to harp on this particular one. There are other more interesting aspects of this situation. And too, I could be wrong, he may not get cut, and stay out of any further trouble, and have a nice NFL career. We're all speculating at this point.
Well we disagree that the value of football players to their team is based upon their non football social interactions rather than their football play.

We also disagree there is a mystery video embarrassing to Kraft and people are sitting around waiting for him to not cut a guy in order to spring it in the world.

We also disagree that a guy who outplay his draft slot in his rookie year is a bad pick.

Pretty much I couldn’t disagree more on each of these and cannot imagine anyone other than the miserables would agree with you.

Why did you want AB gone, but not Jack Jones?

There’s a big difference between the two. Brown only had accusations against him - which of course, nothing happened. He only paid a whopping $100k to Brittany Taylor. He was really cut after the media wrongly thought he posted a photo of the painters’ kids as a “threat” but he was only sharing it with his friends to humiliate her that she was a “broke single Mom”. The media can cancel anybody they want these days.

Jack Jones actually got arrested and facing serious consequences which seem very harsh. He also has a record. AB didn’t.
You missed the big story with AB. His punk thug friends did go after her and threatened her kids.

The point of the ammo being in close proximity is that that is a specific thing that is forbidden. The ammo for guns going on planes has to be widely separated from the gun.
No it doesn't, you can keep your ammo in the same case. Where are you getting these rules from? The ammo isn't going to jump into the gun while it's packed in your luggage

So what did they do?

If you’re only referring to those texts she took a screenshot of, that’s not it.

Two completely different situations…

AB at that point was basically on his last chance after the Raiders released him…

And sex crime accusations out weight gun accusations in this country at least….
This is curious for me. I have never understood why, for good or bad, the personality, character, off field life, politics, etc matter to a fan.
The only purpose for me is what they do in the field. I’m not saying I’m right and you are wrong, I’m asking what your reasoning is.

Bulldog from Brighton. I have faith that Fake Fieri will make sure that JJ only gets a slap on the wrist.

Because it isn't as fun to root for terrible bad/human beings.

So he was packing two loaded glocks with extra ammunition clips. WHY?

That's so idiotic. And it feels so specific. This elevates the charges because of the 'high capacity' feed law.

It does feel silly though that he would get off on a 'lesser' charge if he was carrying the infamous AR15 in his luggage.

But to put that into your airport luggage in the first place is still SUPER STUPID!

You don't think they scan every piece of luggage these days?
The Homers dont care as long as he can play man 2 man for BB.

When the AB thing came down, I wanted him gone fast. Like in seconds.

I want the Patriots to keep Jones.

The comparison doesn't mean anything really other than I am not an absolute homer who never wants to see anyone cut.

AB should Not have been released from here when he was, not even close.

That act of cowardice by Ben Dover cost us a first-round bye, Minimum.

This is current up to August, 2022. I don't know if there's a newer government page.

You guys argue! lol

He seems to be a complete POS, but I was bummed out when he was released. Still kinda am.

I won't lie, this who story made me feel like "**** it, right when we were looking like a force on defense." If we don't have him going forward though, so be it. I would love for this to turn out to be an oversold story, though all the early commentary is of the "oh-ohhhhh" variety.

Maybe he was mad that it looks like Gonzo would be the number 1 CB, and he's saying if he's going to be number 2, it'll be number 2 with a bullet...

maybe he was planning a preseason romp around NFL training camp venues nationwide...with the intent of threatening each team's WR's...that would expalin the oversized illegal ammo clips...after all that's a shyt ton of WR's. I think I like the way he thinks...you even think of catching a pass on me and I'll blow your ****ing head off!

or maybe he was just planning on attending a South Central block party...understandable

Stop salivating: it's not over with Jack Jones. He was one of the best rookie corners last year, so gambling on him made sense and might still work out.

As for Bill making "many, many bad picks", it's usual blather from you trolls. I have never seen any context for that criticism from you or any other troll. You never present a baseline demonstrating that BB is worse ( or better!) than any other drafter. Without setting a baseline, criticisms like yours are garbage. You evidently have no idea how well BB has drafted because you can present no comparison to other teams drafting performance at all.

Did you not read my entire post? I said... And too, I could be wrong, he may not get cut, and stay out of any further trouble, and have a nice NFL career. We're all speculating at this point.

Apparently you don't read entire posts or closely follow some discussions because I have provided reams of context on Belichick's drafts. And I higher doubt there's a wanting for me to repeat all of it in this thread. So I won't. But I'll add if you think Belichick is the GOAT GM then it's not good enough for him to be no worse than the norm. He has to be decidedly better than most if not all (for genuine GOAT status). You would have a much harder time proving Belichick is a better drafter than most other GMs than I would proving he's not. And just for kicks, give me an overall grade for Belichick's drafting ability. I'll go with a C- but it's grade that has come down over the course of his career.

It doesn’t matter to me that much. But when it affects their availability…it pisses me off.

Also, there are some things that I just can’t tolerate like Vick killing dogs, Hernandez being a gangsta, Carruth calling in a hit man, and etc….. I mean I love the Patriots and am willing to overlook a lot….I mean we must have an ***hole or two on the roster…fine…doesn’t affect me on Sundays, but reprehensible people…different story. As for AB, I wanted to give him the benefit of doubt and thought Kraft reacted too quickly…. but later on it became evident to me (via subsequent events) that AB would have F’ed up down the road much like Josh Gordon did towards the end of the season.

IOW, off the field doesn’t bother me unless the player is morally repugnant….
