It's official: Roger Goodell's suspension of Brady failed

I can't agree with that. The loss of the foundational building block, in the form of a 1st round pick was outrageous. The fact that the Pats were able to overcome it this year doesn't change that.

The stipulation that the Pats would lose the higher of the picks if they traded for one in the same round, is unprecedented in it's vindictiveness.

That wasn't a punishment that was an assault.

I won't deny the pick was huge. My point is this. We are 14-2 and have HFA and are playing the best football of the year. We have been relatively fortunate health wise, except for Gronk. How much better could things be right now?

Change anything and we could have had a completely different outcome. Could be 16-0, could be 10-6. Maybe that first rounder we draft stops us from getting Bennett or Floyd or keeps someone else from developing.

As much as we were completely screwed, I wouldn't change anything because it has made us stronger and put us in a great position to win another Super Bowl.

Depends what the goal was. If it was to smear and permanently tarnish the reputation of Brady and the pats, it worked very well. Especially amongst those who don't really follow the issue carefully.

As Brady crushed it this year I don't think that even worked. Had Brady struggled it would have been different but for him to have had one of his best years at 39 years old . . .

Imagine this scenario:
- Pats win the #1 seed (done)
- Pats go to the Super Bowl
- Pats win the Super Bowl
- Brady wins the MVP
- The Pats trade Garoppolo for a top ten pick and another high draft pick or more (something they would never get if Brady wasn't suspended)
- Ryan Grigson gets fired

If all this happens, the Pats will have officially won Deflategate especially with both the Colts and Ravens missing the playoffs.

How awesome would it be to see Brady unload on goodell and call him out for being the f'ing piece of s*** that he is in front of hundreds of millions of viewers as goodell is handing the Pats The Lombardi after the Super Bowl?

My only complaint with TB12 is that he's too classy of a guy to do that.

My hope is that someone like Edelman will step up and get it done.

I wouldn't underestimate the petty vindictiveness of Goodell and minions to try something at the last minute to try and derail the Pats....it,s not like they have an owner who has their back.....

It effectively started today:

N.E., KC and OAK should have all had the same 4:25 PM game start, to insure that those three teams vying for the top seed, all had the same real-time information.

I still can't believe that first round pick they stole. That was strictly a "Patriots are so much better than everyone so let's hamstring them" penalty.
They took a fourth-round pick too, right? The whole thing was unbelievably criminal. What a farce.

Hey Roger! Crappy holidays, you haughty stiff!

Rob, what are you saying????!!!! You never, ever, EVER call for Ryan Grigson to be fired. Why would you want such a good thing to happen to the Colts?

That's how life works. Things often can't be explained in a tweet or two, so they often make the wrong ASSumptions, and go with what they see on the surface.

imagine an invisible fist smashing into his stupid jaw in that pic above....THAT is my dream, seeing his face contort like that.

I'm willing to bet that is your invisible fist.....which, and I think we all agree, should be visible in this case.

If I ever hit that little rich boy punk SOB, I'd get hard time for manslaughter. He's not worth anything more than my complete derision. Perhaps, one day, when I have some time to kill ,I'll find his stupid azz in NYC and water balloon the shyt out of him. I've mellowed in my middle age. Ten years ago ,I'd have tried to find a glass squirt gun and fill it with hydrochloric acid...dress up in a Zippy the Clown outfit and stand outside NFL offices tooting my Zippy clown horn until he walks out the revolving door at 345 Park Ave and...sszzzzzzzzzzzzzrrrch..burn his goddamned face off to the bone.

I've mellowed though....water balloon filled with jackazz urine is more sedate and more appropriate for a man my age.
Joe Kerr disclaimer...do NOT try this at home ,kids. This is not REALITY, it's the warped imaginings of a seriously deranged , lifelong Patriot fan.

I watched a video not too long ago on youtube of someone getting hit in the face with a soccer ball, and then they made it like 10000x slowed down. Maybe someone can do that to Goofdell.

I'll forgive him if he gives us TWO first rounders.

Also, he must kneel in front of Brady and Belichick when presenting them with trophies in the SB51 postgame. Bend the knee, Roger, and we'll forgive your jackassery.
If it comes to that, I'd be extremely surprised if Goodell doesn't find a way to get out of having to hand over the trophy. I mean....too awkward!

Good to know!

Gotta admit, I laughed out loud. You, Mr. Kerr, are indeed a seriously deranged Pats fan!

i dont know if it backfired. You guys really think goodell cares about pats winning the whole thing inspite of this ? He could care less.Other owners might be pissed. He makes millions of dollars to do nothing. He tarnished the image of the greatest QB of all time, took away our draft picks, reaffirmed his power via the courts . I dont think it matters to him what pats do .We might feel this way like he is pissed the pats are doing well but i doubt he gives damn.

UH, yes , I believe it matters a great deal to him. Just re-visit the absolute glee and subsequent bombastic celebration he engaged post appeal decision. You list a number of "positives" he pulled off. Why not take a look at the negatives? You DO realize he cannot show his face in NE anymore, that he's the pariah of millions of NE residents, that his Maine bunker is a virtual high security facility instead of the vacation retreat it was meant to be? He cares, SVN. Believe me, he cares.
