He picked it up later during his time here...

But there was a time when Cam Fleming was absolutely atrocious in 2015.

Yes, but it’s a really high bar. Their tackle play has been exceptional throughout this era.

Ahh yeah that's definitely it. I will say to Kline's credit that he's clearly developed a lot as a player. He was not good for us, but he wasn't a noteworthy liability either. Devey is the guy I had in mind, the fact that he's still in the league is one of the things that keeps me permanently grateful for the guards we have now.

I watched him with the Packers a couple years ago and honestly thought he made Jordan Devey look good in comparison. I though he was horrible. Hopefully he has improved, but we will see.

I posted the above when they signed him. Apparently things haven't changed a whole lot, but I actually think he is doing better than I expected. He definitely has had some rough moments but overall, he is better than I thought he would be. That being said, I can't wait for Wynn to get back

I don’t think most are complaining about him, like as a person or even a player given the context how he ended up with his current role, and certainly not with his effort. How the team/BB ended up in the situation where this was their best available option, and the primary plan was apparently depending on a rookie who was IR’d last year and coming off a torn Achilles, is I think quite a head scratcher.

They’ve obviously had many success stories in similar situations over the years - letting a pricier veteran go and filling the spot with a rookie or outcast from elsewhere. This is one of those times that concept failed miserably, to this point anyway. 8-1 is still 8-1 and I believe they can forge and offensive identity from what they’ve got on hand, but losing Andrews and this LT problem, along with the TE issues, are making that more difficult than usual. I don’t think it’s for lack of effort, and no one is expecting elite, but he’s barely competent and it’s a real problem.

Some of you guys just don't get it. BB could have brought in a LT that never gives up a sack, never has a penalty, and is never inured. But he wants to make TFB look bad so when they win another SB, BB can take all the credit.

How do I know this? I listen to Felger and Mazz and watch NBC Sports Boston, that's how.

Sorry but Newhouse looks like a walking disaster. After 3seconds when Brady was hit or sacked Newhouse was still unaware what had happened.

Lol serviceable? The definition is “fulfilling its function adequately” Newhouse is far from adequate. I guess people who don’t like watching turn styles protect 42 year old quarterbacks, “don’t understand football”.

He has been serviceable. Would I prefer Wynn? Absolutely! But Wynn got hurt.
This guy came in off the street and has done OK. You have to consider the context of the situation. Newhouse was not even in the league. Not even on a practice roster of another team. Considering the context of the situation, the guy has helped out.
Having Wynn back will immediately upgrade the entire O Line. Which is what all fans of the Pats want!
If you want to argue that BB should have had a better alternative lined up in case Wynn couldn't be counted on, that is fine. But that is a different discussion altogether.

Excuses. He’s a terrible player who should not be on a football field let alone starting. It’s hard to imagine that there isn’t some other street FA or someone on another teams PS better than him.
Newhouse has allowed a team high 25 disruptions (7 sacks, 10 QB hits, and 8 pressures). He’s a complete liability who should have been replaced already.

Like I said in my last post. Sign someone else. Find someone from other team’s practice squad. Try out Cunningham. Really hard to do worse than Newhouse.

I cant recall but I think Wynn is eligible to play week 12 so that would be Dallas assuming his toe is good to go finally.

I don’t think you’re acknowledging how much of a disaster the offensive line talent is around the NFL. There are worse tackles starting for other teams right now. Until Okung came back a couple weeks ago, the Chargers had both of their starting tackles playing worse than Newhouse. A few weeks ago, Dan freaking Skipper was deemed to be the best available practice squad option. It’s bad out there. The Patriots aren’t alone, and they’re not getting the worst of it.
