Is Julian Edelman overrated???

Welker clearly wasn't himself all year though, it's not as if he came back rusty and got better as the year went on. Also, he was younger and generally less beaten up than Edelman is at this point

I hope Edelman is back to his usual self but I expect that he will be less effective than many expect. He will be 32, coming off a major injury and a number of minor ones in the past few years. The chances that he is a top 15 WR aren't great given everything going against him. Even without the ACL tear, I think he'd be entering his decline phase anyway.

welker actually did get better towards the end of the 2010 season:

game 11 @ DET: 8/90/2TD
game 12 vs NYJ: 7/80/1TD
game 13 @ CHI: 8/115/0TD
game 14 vs GNB: 3/42/0TD
game 15 @ BUF: 3/19/0TD (welker didn't start, patriots won a 34-3 blowout)
game 16 vs MIA: DNP (patriots won 38-7)

by week 17 of the 2010 season, welker would have been where edelman will be at the beginning of the 2018 season.

welker had 86/848/7TD in 2010. if edelman can get 90/900/5TD and finish the season healthy, i would be happy with that.
