No way I would trade Rham. I think him and Trey could be a nightmare for opposing defenses. He just needs to hold onto the ball.

No sir.
Rham = Montgomery
Must-See TV = Gibbs
Gibson = A nice blend of the two

Sons of RANarchy
Let’s keep that rhythm going.

No, I think he’s going to have a sizable role on offense assuming he gets the fumbling under control.

Also, RLKAG.

We have Henderson, Gibson and Hasty, and there are always RB's available after the cut, or even before.

Maybe it's just me, but I cringe whenever Stevenson carries the ball inside the 10 yard line.
Originally yes. I was in favor of trading him and the cap savings.

Now, no because I fear that Henderson won't last the season. The rookie wall is a real phenomenon too.The offense is way behind so I would imagine e that the Pats will be a running team as the 2025 season begins.

You need as many capable RB's as you can get. You don't want to wear down Henderson and injuries do occur. A season like 2015 was brutal.

He was promising once upon a time. Certain plays suggest that he could be a superior back, but that promise is never sustained. For every remarkable effort, there will be a number of efforts which suggest no such thing. I don't know what his problem is, but I suspect there's a clue in his fumbling problem, which is mostly a matter of focus and effort. But I'm not obligated to understand why he is as he is. It suffices to take notice of the facts on the field.

In other words, I think we have seen enough to know what he is: nothing special. And the hard fact is that the supply of good running backs (not great ones, but Rhamondre isn't that) always exceeds the demand. Looking at the present mix of RB's on the team, I see a need for a back who can reliably get decent yards on early downs, maybe short yardage on the goal line or on third or fourth and short. I don't see a lot of evidence Rhamondre is that guy. What he does offer is easily replaced, and his replacement might well have the upside which Rhamondre, I think it fair to say, has demonstrated he does not have.

And he cost more than he's worth, right?

So I would move on. I'm not optimistic you'd get much if anything for him, but I think that's just how she goes sometimes.

No. As much as I know Rham was overrated the last 2 years, and he's frustrating as a "big back" because he won't run hard between tackles and will cough up the ball. He's still a value, and we need rotation with Henderson. I don't want to wear a rookie out with a lot of beating inside. Rham is good value insurance right now. I don't think Hasty is equivalent to what Rham can do - which is still produce in a 4min offense, and provide dual threat ability on 1st down.

No!! Rhams game will be aided with Henderson and Gibson. Go figure Rhams been beat up so much as he's been basically the offense last few seasons. Taking some off his carries will allow him less pressure and less wear and tear. As electric as he Henderson is.. a star in the making for sure.. I feel he will be involved in alot of passing plays. You need a guy like rham for when the weather is bad or field conditions aren't ideal in cold weather.

You're vastly overestimating what Stevenson would yield in a trade.
This is where I'm at. RB's in the ballpark of Stevenson are a dime a dozen. He was the 26th ranked rusher last year. He was injured for part of 2023 but he would have finished in the same ballpark if you went by ypg. Even in his best year he was the 13th ranked rusher in the league.

He's solid, but nothing that's going to get teams to make it worth a trade unless you feel like we have no use for him.

I'm only looking for a center better than what we have. That's pretty low.
Teams don't let good offensive lineman go. That's been our problem for awhile. Over the last 10 years we were the exception to the rule where we would trade or let top lineman walk. Scar helped cover for that. But it caught up to us and we found out what the rest of the league knew, when you get solid lineman who can do the job, you keep them unless you have a real replacement, and then you get to have a bidding war (which we tend to not overextend enough to win).

No. They need three RBs that can carry the ball. If he starts fumbling then cut him. If Henderson or Gibson get hurt you still have him.

Hasty? Meh.
So, you are of the opinion that we can't get someone that car the ball from another team or after the final cut?

Definitely looking that way
yup

I suppose that we will learn a lot from who is on the field when we are in the red zone and in short yardage situations.

I would say he’s gonna stay. He’s a good change of pace back. However his fumbles will determine his role on this team past this coming season. If he can fill a Montgomery role and be a reliable ball carrier he’s a plus member in the backfield.

Not this Season. If they get a 2 Down or better RB in the 2026 Draft, then I have no problem with it.

I'd have to look the the list of RBs who were cut/avail for trade to answer your question. With that said I would only cut Rham of he starts fumbling. If he doesn't then he is an asset.

I understand. A history of fumbling isn't a concern unless it happens again. If that happens, we can always bring someone off the Practice Squad.

Correct. I can understand the concern but note he didn't have a fumbling problem until last year.

Absolutely agree is why I believe Gibson, rham aren't going anywhere. Henderson will be used all over the formation..the guys is threat to score each time he touches the ball. If your look at cook in Buffalo who's a bigger back..but he essentially is Buffalos offense there's no surprises with him. With Henderson defenses don't know where he will be lined up.. rham is a much needed guy at RB. The emergence of Henderson will help him.

Such that teams want the Patriots cast-aways, I'm open to trades for some of the guys where we have more depth than others

At this time of year there's always the potential for player swaps while there's still time to see what you've got before final cutdown.

If there's a guy like Stevenson who has interest from a team with a need at RB who face similar roster decisions at OL and there could be worthwhile for both players.

Treating players right, by giving them a better chance with another team of the organization's choosing, rather than being cut and going to a division rival can make sense for everyone.

That being said, since we've yet to see any of our RBs play in a real game, I'd rather stick with him fo rnow.
