Probably a wasted pick. We Spartan fans are shocked he was even drafted. Tall and fast. Sure. But can’t you get a halfway decent football player who does ST?
You have it backwards. Can't we get top, starting STer's who can fill in as backups at a position.

Speed likely will be a starter on ST's like Schooler last year.

Exactly. Our star special teamers hardly ever play outside of special teams, so the question is, do you want ordinary special teams so you can have better backups, or great STs?

Agreed and well put. A great ST'er who can play elsewhere is expensive (and then do you risk him on special teams?


The Patriots are hardly the only team who go for ST specialists - look at the guys they've poached, or who have been poached from them, like Cody Davis and Board and Ebner.
