What any of us were like as teens or young adults has no bearing upon anything.

When my uncle was dieing of cancer and my parents had a party for him at their house, Paul Walberg showed up.

Strange how we judge people we don't really know.

BTW....I agree with Donnie's post. As much as I'd like to think of it as a year of revenge, the 2015 Patriots season has nothing to do with revenge.

All I am saying is what they were like as kids. Mark's criminal record speaks to that.

Of course what people are like as they were at 17-18 is unlikely what they are like in their 40s.

After 8 months of hearing how Brady cheated and the only reason he has won like he has is because of a dubious scheme to release 0.2 psi out of a freaking football. All the while ex idiot football players, nutbag mediots jumping on the Pash edited report which sold the scientifically impossible scheme and included a trip to the bathroom. Screw you.

This is a revenge tour. "Brady/BB can't win without cheating". How does that BS taste now?

I'm sure BB and Brady will handle this appropriately and professionally but without a doubt this season is definitely an FU tour.

You do realize Marky Mark went to jail for beating up two Asian men for being Asian (separate incidents on the same day). Back then it was just assault (he was charged with attempted murder and pleaded to assault). Today it would have been a hate crime.

He also had civil actions against him for two separate incidents for harassing African American kids in his neighborhood.

I don't know what he is now, but as a teenager he was a racist scumbag. I wasn't talking about his drug issues.

And if I am self righteous because I think I am better than a racist who physically attack people because of their skin color, then I wear it as a badge of honor.

I'm a hypocrite.I admit it. I think it's pretty unfair to paint a person's life with a broad judgemental brush, yet I detest the entire life spans of people like Kravitz, Doyel, Irsay and Goodell. Wahlberg came from a place where racism was ingrained in the culture.What he did was contemptuously racist, I agree...but when he grew beyond the Southie world of blind bigotry he matured as a human being. His body of work spanning the last fifteen or so years shows this.

I see nothing but MORE of the same scumbaggery, the same classism and the same BIGOTRY spanning their lifetimes to this point from the individuals I just mentioned. There were two men that Wahlberg fought and struck, but it was the same incident.

Here is a quote regarding the Gov. of Mass's attempt at hearing their statements for Wahlberg's pardon:

I agree with this, although as you mention, we can all see Rob's point as well. What he did was terrible, but he was punished for it, and claimed that it was the turning point in his life when he realized that he needed to calm down, make better decisions, and think more about the bigger picture. For a 16 year old (at the time), that's pretty impressive.

Although I find his specific action terrible, I only wish that I could've learned from my mistakes at such a young age.

I think Wahlberg got all contrite when he wanted to open a business in Boston and apparently you cannot do so if you have a criminal record, not sure it is all that altruistic if so he might have done that before..

There are a ton of celebrities from all races that did racist acts when they were young. And there are even more people in the general population that committed criminal acts when they were young.

But the key is, if they no longer do those things and actually spend time doing good things, then the past is totally forgiven. And I'm sure you agree.
