So, I'm at work and I wanted to check on my fantasy football team. I type in yahoo.com and the first thing I see is, "Brady breaks the rules." Are you kidding me? Does Brady not buckling his f*cking chin strap really need to be the featured headline on a nationally used search engine like that? I'm so over everything the Pats do being some sort of "cheating" scandal or a "classless" act. I've already had three people walk by my office (yes, I live in Indy) talking about us "cheating" again b/c they don't take the time to read the story, they just know that Brady "broke the rules" because of that stupid headline.

Part of me wants to be grateful that all of these people have to be so jealous, but it is getting really old. I'm an IU basketball fan, but it makes me sick that all of the people who bashed Belichick for "cheating" are now standing by Kelvin Sampson saying that everyone cheats so it's ok. Bunch of hypocrites...........sorry, just had to vent.

Re: I'm so over this.....

what's more infuriating about that is that it shows up on yahoo's front page and just says that he broke the rules and is being fined. So people will see that nd just add it to the old anti-pats pile and not read it, especially in Indy where a lot of people don't know how to read in the first place.

Re: I'm so over this.....

Lol. Yes that was pretty weak. Brady gets fined for not buckling his chinstrap, and suddenly this is news? Must be a slow news day. Either that or the media is desperately looking for chinks in the armor and this is the best they could come up with. LAME.

This is the kind of thing that makes the "eff you TD" okay with me. If they are going to pile on then so will we. Only our piling on results in winning games with points, there's results in stupid news stories that give fans of losing teams a chance to b*tch and moan.

I wouldn't suggest reading the comments after the chin strap story. I almost punched my monitor they p*ssed me off so bad.

Re: Brady the latest Patriot to break the rules... WTF!?!?

As they said on NEST last night, we've gone from the lovable David in 2001 to the loathable Golliath in 2007.

Screw them all. We'll have the last laugh in February.

Re: Brady the latest Patriot to break the rules... WTF!?!?

I hear the NFL is going to make the Pats tack-weld Brady's chinstraps in place from now on and he won't be able to take his helmet off the entire game.

Seriously, does the NFL want the Pats to go undefeated?

I'd like to see Brady use one finger to snap his chinstrap in place from now on, if you know what I mean.

Re: I'm so over this.....

How long has this been going on? Goodell needs to have Brady send all of his chin straps in for further examination. Films will be studied to determine how many times he has played without the chinstrap properly fastened.

"The LAWLESS Patriots"

My GOD, not a chinstrap violation. It's consistant though. That's the way the media has been pimping us ALL YEAR. What friggen Dolts.... Here's the LINK. They've been alternating on extreme Ball Washing with how scary good we are, to demonizing us as the second coming of the Imperial Forces. Seriously, they should almost put these stories to THIS MUSIC.

In my opinion, its a concerted effort to deflect attention away from the absolute SH!TTY average NFL product is these days.

When it comes to the NFL's uniform police, no one is above the law. The Boston Globe reported New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been fined for not having his chin strap properly buckled.

Don't click on the inept profootballtalk link... don't give the turd any clicks.

I had started a thread about this already, but I was too mad to come up the obvious title. Good work on that.

It really is us against the world now. Well world, Bring it on!!!!

This is the 3rd or 4tht thread about this...

Yeah, I typed this elsewhere too, but it fits. It's pretty freaking shocking that this get a top billing on Yahoo. WTF..... Isn't there any REAL NEWS today.

Re: I'm so over this.....

God forbid the horrible non-buckling of the chin strap. Brady is so classless!

The text of that link comes off as satire, which I'm about 80% sure it is:
When it comes to the NFL's uniform police, no one is above the law. The Boston Globe reported New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been fined for not having his chin strap properly buckled.

Reiss reports that Brady's agent, Don Yee, confirmed the fine but would not say how much Brady was fined or which game the violation occurred in.

This isn't the first such fine for the Patriots this season; defensive lineman Ty Warren was fined $7,500 for not having his chin strap buckled in a Sept. 23 game against the Bills. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said teams were notified before the season and reminded multiple times that the league would be cracking down on unbuckled chin straps as an effort to prevent concussions.

It mirrors the standard "This isn't the first time...[rumor rumor rumor]" and "NFL issued a reminder/memorandum to all 32 teams..." language of the videotaping thing.

Unfortunately, it's probably lost on most of the anti-Pats crowd.

Oops... I didn't mean to just make another thread about it... me being lazy.

If you want to merge, I will understand completely.

Re: I'm so over this.....

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the next thing we saw was Goodell out there on their field personally checking to make sure all the players are wearing cups.

Talk about Goodell's dream job.......

The question remains: How much of an advantage did unbuckled chinstraps give the Patriots during their three Super Bowl wins? I will not rest or let up on this story until Bill Belichick answers all the questions. Until that time, there will have to be an asterisk next to those three Championships.

It all comes down to the integrity of the game. The NFL means alot to many of us and we deserve answers.

Re: I'm so over this.....

According to a guy in the NFL I was talking to, Roger Goodell is looking into videos of the Super Bowls to see if Brady had his chin strapped on. If he doesn't, then he gets an "*" next to his MVP awards.

How was your latest trip to Starbucks, Mr. King?
