    Our offense isn't in jeopardy because of our core skill players. All are solid. Brady is comfortable with all of them.

    Brady
    White, Michel
    Edelman, Sanu, Dorsett
    Watson
    ===========
    Our backups are probably OK as backups, although some have been injured. On a given Sunday, a couple of these players could be the key to a win. Myers may be the most important of them this year, although I could see the argument for Harry or LeCosse.

    Burkhead, Bolden
    Meyers, Harry
    LeCosse, Izzo
    ======
    Stidham, Kessler, Harris are non-factors
    ======
    The obvious elephant in the room is the OL, which has been injured and awful. It doesn't help to have lost our best blocking TE and our FB.
    ====
    BOTTOM LINE
    With Wynn back, Mason healthy, and Karras improving with experience, this offense is good enough to compete for the Super Bowl.

    Last year, the key to victory was an awesome OL, augmented by Gronkowski, Allan, and Develin as blockers. This year, it is our very aggressive and excellent defense.

    We have to be fine now as it's too late to make any upgrades. I'm still disappointed we didn't trade for a tight end who could help in the running game and the red zone.

    I’m not fine. At all. Severe lack of talent, especially long term we could be in big trouble when Brady retires.

    Could have rebuilt the offense with great players in 2018-2019 but Billy B struck out

    I suspect that Belichick could find anyone that was available for a reasonable price. Besides, Belichick may be fine with Watson, LeCosse and Izzo. It is not at all clear that one of the available additions would have helped a lot.

    Lots of GREAT talent dropped to us

    Calvin Ridley
    Lamar Jackson
    Nick Chubb
    AJ Brown
    DK Metcalf

    Not to mention a plethora of much better tight ends than the JAGS we have

    Instead we drafted players who aren’t that good, or who can’t find the field

    This offense is fine, or at least should be fine, and should be able to produce more than the 20 points its produced in the last 2 games, and should definitely be able to produce more than the 4 touchdowns its produced in the last 2 games.

    Idk why but this team should have hung on to Bennett. I was looking at his snap counts and just how much he played during the last two games. It’s not like he didn’t make the plays at the beginning of the year. This team needs players upfront on defense. You can make an argument he was our second best player upfront after guy. This team could have better talent upfront.

    He didn't fit the scheme they are running most of the time, his playing time suffered appropriately, then he melted down and got into it with coaches to the point where he got suspended for a week AND when he returned he still behaved like a pouty child.

    He was not Chris Long who quietly accepted whatever the coaches asked of him (and the corresponding playtime) in pursuit of a title and then when the time came moved on to another team to play a role more to his liking.

    There was no coming back from this and being taken hostage by a player just because of his contract or history is (rightfully) not something BB will even remotely deal with.

    Yes, but I know of no one that couldn't beat the stock market in hindsight.

    Understandable but he played well from the start. It’s not like he was a bum. He got mad because of his snaps counts which is understandable. Idk he should have seen more snaps over some other guys upfront. It’s there is a weakness right now on this team it’s on the d-line. The fact that they got also a lousy pick in return doesn’t help.

    You shouldn't be. They're not good enough. This year, Brady and McDaniels are going to have to be even more brilliant than last year, just to try getting something near the same results.

    Whether you can understand his reasons for getting upset or not doesn't change that it is entirely unacceptable to do what he did.

    And I don't see why he deserved snaps over other guys as the defense has been absolutely balling out in 8 out of 9 games.

    I get that naturally here come the overreactions from a lot of posters because of how they looked against the run option but your stances on Bennett are a bit weird even through that prism.

    He was a me-first player that ended up to not fit the culture when faced with adversity and got shipped out for whatever breadcrumbs they could find. Or in other words an expensive mistake that apparently said all the right things through the offseason as long as he thought he'd be a starter.

    You're working from the assumption that those players and their respective trajectories would be identical here in New England as they have been at their respective teams, which is a false assumption.

    If you change the circumstance/setting with any given player, the outcome will be different. Perhaps still a good outcome, but a different outcome. And in some cases, a bad outcome.

    We can't run the ball nor can we stop teams running at us.......that's enough to wonder do we have all the right pieces.......we are not terrible but need to upgrade if we can.....I am not smart enough to pick one area over another will leave that to better more knowledgeable posters

    I agree. I even marked this as a "winner".

    However, I would note that many, many wanted Chubb at the time instead of Michel.

    Feel free to peruse the board. You'll find plenty of people who've preferred one player or another over those drafted. The whole "hindsight" argument is dead on this forum, with very few exceptions where it applies, and for good reason.

    Agreed. I wanna tell other people watch other RBs and WRs from other teams. They look faster, way more athletic and explosive than our guys

    O-line needs to be fixed first. I’m getting tired of watching Brady dancing in the pocket right after he gets the snap.

    Skill players are okay, but they need to run the ball better which I don’t think they have the parts to do so. No blocking TE’s and the loss of Develin has been huge.
