Let him go to the Chargers. I’ll be happy for him just like I was for Brady in Tampa.

it’s not happening here. We can continue to tread water living in the past. But, for goodness sake, it’s long past time to move on from here.
I’m on the fence but slowly coming around lol

Isn’t Mac a McDaniels pick? I mean, QB busts define 3/4th of the league at all times, every season.

It’s okay to be stuck with someone for a season. I think firing Belichick leaves us cycling through the regulars while Bill goes to San Diego and creates a Super Bowl team.

I can’t imagine Coaching in 2015 and 2023 are that different. I’m not convinced Coaches “falling off a cliff” is a real thing. It’s not like he has to run a hurdle track to get to the film room. Tom Brady and any other player you could mention aside, what’s the difference between this Bill and the one who had to change the name of his boat every couple of years? General Manager and draft help is probably useful but most every team in the NFL would leap immediately at hiring him the moment it was news.

I mean, he was a **** to Tom and tried trading Gronk to Detroit, so he deserved a little smudge on his resume it could be argued, but I really doubt you’re going to upgrade at the HC position. And I highly suspect you could give him a made roster and watch him get them prepared AF for winning.
Bills gonna be 72. You don’t extend a 72 year old who’s team has been middling for another 4 years

Sad to say it but I think the game has passed Bill by. He can scheme up a good D but when it comes to team building we need new blood. I agree with others that it needs to be a whole new offensive philosophy.

The issue is Bill is to proud to step away from GM duties and just be the coach. No way would I fire him mid-season but after the years done we need to change. Get the new staff in place for the draft. It sucks but he’s 72 next year and there are no signs this ship is turning around. Gotta do what’s best for the franchise.

Given how Mac is playing this year (and how Zappe is playing) we can't rule out that Patricia is actually a offensive coaching genius.
Bill Walsh would lose his job with Corky Gump.

But taking Mac Jones out of the equation. The offensive line is in shambles. This is an undisciplined team that makes a lot of mental mistakes and costly penalties. This used to be a team that consistently gets better as the year goes along and is playing its best football in December and January, but this team especially the defense has fallen apart down the stretch the last two or three years. Belichick has made a lot of situational decisions that are stupid like going for it in fourth down when he should kick a field goal. The previous two years, the special teams have been abysmal. None of these things have to do with Mac Jones.

Mac was Belichick’s pick just like every pick in the draft. Why do people want to give someone else credit for picks that they deem failures. The only pick I know of that can directly attributed to McDaniels is Maroney because his brother coached him. Even then, Belichick had to be on board with the pick.

Fact is Mac was the pick because the Pats needed a QB. He was recommended By Bill’s friend - Nick Saban. And he fit the scheme the Pats run.

If Belichick is letting his OC make a top 15 pick and choosing the QB of the future even though he didn’t want to draft him, he should be fired for that. You don’t let your OC make such an important pick.

Coaching has changed because the league has changed. The league is constantly changing and it affects the coaching. You want proof of that. Look at Joe Gibbs. When he first left the NFL, he was one of the greatest head coaches of all time. He came back a decade late and he was lost. He couldn’t handle the speed of the game and was a failure. He is the extreme because he left the game and came back, but shows how much the league and coaching changes over time.

And you don’t even know who will be the next head coach and you are label him and the next guy and the next guy failures.

And I think there are plenty of head coaches who could take the talent that is in the Chargers and be a Super Bowl contender. It is coaching that is holding that team back more than anything.

But I can put the blame on Bill for not addressing an upgrade from Mac at qb or by not improving the offensive talent in general since Brady left town.
Why would they have considered that? He had a top-10 season for rookie QBs in 2021, and there wasn't any clear upgrade available in the draft or on the FA market at a reasonable price this year.

IMO the mistake was whatever TF they thought they were doing last offseason instead of trying to build on the 2021 season.

Regardless if they decide to keep BB or not there needs to be a resource ban defensively. If they want to tag Dugger fine but players 15-23 on defense should be filled with vet. min, day 3 draft picks & udfas. The 100+ million in cap space & draft picks should be spent almost exclusively on offense. No more paying starter money to backups while the offense plays 6th round rookie WRs and fringe roster tackles.

I think Kraft wants to see him break Shulas record while he’s a Patriot. If this record deal wasn’t in reach or had been reached already I think Bill would be fired at the end of this season. Out of respect I don’t think Kraft would fire Bill mid season.

I was ready after last year's **** show. I don't want to watch another couple of seasons like this just for him to pass some record I don't give a damn about. And, Bob Kraft, you're old. You're going to die sooner rather than later. Is this the product you want to put out and to watch in your remaining years?

My opinion is has he lost the locker room ...
I think he has ... most coaches get fired for this ...

But this is a HOF coach ...

Kraft has one of his most difficult professional decisions in his life.
Or perhaps the most difficult decision of his professional life.
Would Kraft keep one of his business managers in place after this kind of run?

Something needs to be done. Mr. Kraft, this is just not acceptable and certainly not up to Patriot standards.

Any Bill decision will happen after the season.

I don’t think Kraft will put Bills personal accolades over the state of the franchise if this season does in fact fall off the rails.

Because of Kraft’s age, he’s not going to want to risk a new staff with an unknown Coach.

If I were Kraft, I’d have a long conversation with Bill on why he needs to make some drastic changes.

I’d want a GM. This would be non negotiable. His team building has been next level bad since 2020. Bill can still have a final say like Shanahan has over Lynch, but someone needs to challenge him with who they take in the draft, FA, etc. Bill brought in his best players when he had experienced guys like Pioli and Reese there.

The staff needs a real offensive coordinator who is up to the trends with the current NFL and can identify talent that would fit his scheme. Bill’s philosophy on offense is horribly outdated.

As much as I don’t like Bill’s sons on staff or even Mayo, I’ll have to give him this if he agrees to the other two above.

Kraft is going to have to make a tough decision because Bill will not want to change.
I'd look to poach someone from the 49ers or Eagles front offices. Those are the two most talented teams in the league.

Krafty aint firing Bill unless they go 3-14 or something. He doesn't have the guts for the pr backlash (like how he listened to the unwashed mediots and pressured Bill to reach for a qb in the 2021 draft when Cam would've done fine with Jonnu, Agholor, Bourne, Henry etc).

Kraft picked Mac bc the unwashed media mouth breathers like Felger and Mazz riled up the fanbase against Cam.

I’m on the fence. Need to take some time and think on it. Is there a candidate even worthy to walk in his shoes. You just don’t fire a guy and hire an average Joe off the street or some innovative oc or college coach. Not sure if O’brien is cut out to be a HC or if Mayo is experienced enough?

Be careful what you wish for I guess.

it would be fitting if he was fired and went to team like the Chargers and won the whole damn thing like Brady did. It would be hilarious actually.
