I find your lack of 'defensive touchdowns' disturbing

This is something that has been bugging me about this team for a while. I finally decided it needs its own thread.

The Patriots have not scored a defensive TD in nearly 3 years (including playoffs games). The Last defensive TD was score by Jamie Collins on 12-27-15.

To put this in perspective, only three teams didn't score a defensive TD in 2017 including the Patriots... The Jets, Raiders and Steelers. All of whom scored at least 1 defensive TD both this year and in the 2016 season.

This, simple put, is HORRIBLE. While taking an int or fumble down inside the red zone is nice you want your D to finish the job. The fact they haven't been able to do it when even the basement of the league routinely stumbles into these plays year in and year out is a problem.

I am tired of the D not getting the job down on turnovers. I want a defensive TD and I want it now. There is no excuse for this to go on any longer. While I haven't done the research, I think it might be fair to say this may well be the longest streak of not getting a defensive TD in the modern NFL history.

Nearly 3 seasons worth of games have passed without a defensive TD. There is no excuse. Tonight is the night to make it happen.

Quick, now tell us it's been bugging you about this team for a while that they never beat the Packers by 45 points and made Rodgers look like a b***h.

Can you start a thread on how you find Gronk's lack of production disturbing, please?

I think going through the A22 of Gronks last 5-6 games will be a project I will look into during the BYE unless someone else in the media does it.

Something is definitely off but how much of this is by design to keep him away from literal backbreaking hits, his ankle, double teams or him just maybe slowing down in terms of explosiveness I am not sure.

Can't wait for our disagreements on Guerrero/lack of weights playing a role though. But lets do that during the BYE not now please.

While defensive TD's may be concerning to some, since Collins pick six in 2015 the Pats have won 38 & lost 10 in that same period that is about an 80% winning percentage.. while D TD's are nice and exciting, do not care how they do it as long as they keep winning..

Can we get a side by side with McCourty's speed/run to a shark and Usain Bolt?

And extremely well done by the OP. What should we have him ask for next (and no that's not a request for a mosslot poll...or is it)?

I would recommend watching it with the hypothesis that Gronk can't jump, or that his jumping ability is severely limited by his lack of burst. That's been my hypothesis for awhile now. He did lay out for a ball last night and clearly didn't look right. But in particular, if you watch some of their red zone calls, he's 1-on-1 on the outside against a short cornerback. This is an obvious jump ball/fade, but instead Brady is either going to a different target or throwing to Gronk's chest level.

I'd be interested in analysis regarding whether scoring a TD on a turnover is random or if it's a product of something the defense is trying to do specifically. You could argue that we have just been unlucky.

It has been awhile but if you went back and looked there may have been a few game ending ints where the CB went down vs going for the TD, not sure if its the case but it could be possible so if someone is super bored..LOL
