I’m having a hard time being excited about the future…

When BB named MP to his role he gave the players an excuse and lost the ability to hold them accountable. We are seeing Bill Parcells rule that players will fail if they are given an excuse. It would feel much better if the team was playing as well as their talent allowed and Mac was growing in his role. This is just a mess. I am looking forward to BB lowering the boom on the coaching staff and the players who have not given their best, even if we lose some talent.
Maybe Kraft lowers the boom on BB.

I'm referring to last off season.. isn't he still under contract at Alabama? I mean Alabama is pretty much patriots south anyhow. However I don't blame Billy O I would not want to return unless I'm the OC.. not some made up title.
Reasons Bill O'Brien will not be in NE as OC in 2023....

1) Greater ambitions (NFL HC) and likely suitors
2) Lack of desire to work under another control freak HC who will demand a long-term binding commitment that muzzles greater ambitions
3) Mac Jones

My Pats future is without him unless he is fetching BB coffee and donuts.

Better look out, clodhopper. Momma's after you again!

Imagine the future without Mac and you need sunglasses.

This team is so good right now and all the Pats lack is competent QB performance.

Do your chores, clodhopper, or a tushy full of rock salt is in your immediate future.

Woketool is stalking you too.

Weirdo

Great points! And also that Patricia and judge are there. Bill may not want to step on his buddies toes.

Points 1 and 2 perhaps, but point 3 would be a plus for BOB who worked closely with Mac at Alabama. IF Mac is to succeed in his third/pivotal season he needs someone like that in his corner.

That's another big reason I'd like Bill O to return.. also the guy commands respect, outside of Mayo what coach under BB do these players truly respect in all actuality... Billy O is the most intelligent choice to get this offense at least to NFL standards.

…as long as the fat slob is calling plays for the offense.

And unfortunately, I get the feeling Bill won’t be able to have the heart to demote his good buddy. We’re stuck as long as Bill’s here.

Yep, as long as there's even one Belichick in the building, there is No Future in Foxborough.

Bill is not dumb.
Dumb, no... Delusional...?

If this keeps up, fat Matt will be nowhere near the offense next year. He's actually probably already seen enough.
Well I should certainly hope so.

He just simply will not make a mid-season staff change.
Agreed...which might also speak perhaps to his confidence or lack thereof in anyone else on his offensive staff...

You look at Kellen Moore and possibly even Kliff Kingsbury if he becomes available.
We do not have a shot at Payton he wants a franchise QB in place.
Near the end of this week's Hard Knocks, when Kliffy & Bill met after the game, the mike caught Bill saying to him: "I'll call you later..." Hmmm...

Not trading up to secure Justin Fields has set us back.
If Bill had done the Real right thing by the franchise, he would've been in position to draft Fields without any trade-up at all.
But he had other things on his mind; so...

If you don't want to try a hail Mary, I am not against running Mondre on a simple draw and hope that a dumb Raider grabs a facemask or makes a horsecollar tackle. Not likely, I know, but the odds are probably a little better than that of completing the Hail Mary.

I've, like, Never seen a draw play work for a TD as time expired... I have seen Hail Marys - as in plural - work for TDs however.

If we were worse at least we'd have the draft to look forward to lol

Yep; and that's what forward-thinking organizations do...

Then there's Bill's Family & Friends, aka the dumbest team someone's ever seen (Hint: that someone is actually paid by this very same organization to give his opinions about them; and he Just Said That).

Would you welcome Jimmy G back?? I would.

Id love to see the takes on here paying him $25+ million a year to wind up on IR

Ok, thanks for the helpful information.. I think he'd stay on a team friendly deal say 3 years 15 million something like that..

No one on the team is helping increase their market rate in FA, but Meyers will likely command $15m/year or so..

Would love to keep him on the team, but not if we have to pay him like a #1 WR to do it, because hes not a #1 WR

But what if he loses weight?

I wouldn't go higher than even $10M per... Unless I'm really Really under-estimating the WR marketplace for the Spring of 2023, which I admit I could very well be doing...
