I'm not running that all through Babbelfish to translate. But I'm telling you, don't threaten me with an owl again.

hello patsfans,

like ryanthecoltsfan at coltpower, we have a 4 round mock draft on our german nfl messageboard. though i´m a packersfan i took the job as pats-gm.

in our mock draft, trades are allowed, but only 2006 draft picks (no future selections, no players involved).

with my first pick i selected

lawson was my favourite pick from day 1 of our mock draft. very quick, very athletic and a great pass rusher. he´s raw right now, but has tremendous upside.

in the link below you can see the whole mock draft with all trades and picks in post 1. it´s updated with every pick.

nfl-talk.net mock draft - the picks

i will give an update, when i pick the next time. we are at pick 37 right now. but do you like my first pick?

p.s.: sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand me although.

I love that pick.

what the hell has a mock draft to do with an owl? by the way, the doublepoints should be on top of the letter

ascii codes:
alt + 132: ä
alt + 148: ö
alt + 129: ü

but now back on topic, it´s a draft for football players, not for owls.

So who would you like to pick at 53? Who is your choice for the Packers in the real draft? Would you like Mario Williams?

i think it´s a bad idea to name the player before i picked him. the other 31 mock drafter do a hell of research and i bet my last boxer short, that at least one reads here to see the favoured pats picks. i´ll tell you just a minute after i grabbed that player

for the packers i would like both mario and aj. i think at least one is gone before pick 5, so i would be happy with the other. if both are gone, i hope ted thompson find a tradepartner, who is interested in a quarterback. if the packers land huff an get another day 1 pick, i would be happy, too.

Wow! Tough crowd!

A shifty running back (no Dillon replacement this season, please) good potential strong safey or possession receiver would all be nice.

Danke schön!

P.S. I was going to make some remark about not knowing many German Gilberts -- but I saw your screen name for the German board.

.

. If any of them try to turn up here and steal your ideas, I'll tell them, "he, hau ab!". I think a lot of people want to trade down in this draft, as it has so many quality players.

right, tough guys especially the browns-gm. we have really tough, but good discussions with him. no, i´m not really a gilbert, but how can´t you love the gravedigger as a packerfan.

@gomez

right, the most trade down requestions were rejected. the most dramatic was the one of the rams in round 1, which brought them up to take cromartie at 11. i didn´t request a trade down, because my favourite pick at 21 was there and i got it. same in round 2 ...

43) BROWNS - Max Jean-Gilles, OG, Georgia
44) CHIEFS (from RAVENS) - Jason Allen, CB/FS, Tennessee
45) EAGLES - Daniel Bullocks, S, Nebraska
46) RAMS - Thomas Howard. LB, UTEP
47) FALCONS - Davin Joseph, OG, Oklahoma
48) VIKINGS - Charles Spencer, OG, Pittsburgh
49) LIONS (from COWBOYS) - Roger McIntosh, LB, Miami
50) CHARGERS - Kiddster, 05.04., 16-20 Uhr
51) VIKINGS (from DOLPHINS) - Moss is Boss, 05.04., 20-0 Uhr
52) PATRIOTS - GilbertBrown, 06.04., 0-8 Uhr

so 2 picks to go and no one of my 4 + 3 alternative targets is gone. but i think i´ll stay put and pick at #52. my personal fav will be there, i think

this can´t be true, one of my 7 players is gone the steelers traded up and grabbed sinorice moss. i thought san diego would have picked him. one to go, 6 players left.

ok, the new patriot is joseph addai. he was one of my 2 first options at 52 and after the falcons pick i was sure no one will pick him before.

the former lsu tiger has enough power to run between the tackles, but shows excellent speed, too. so outside runs are also an option. he dominated the rb-class at the combine in almost every drill. but the most i like are his outstanding hands in the backfield. he could help tom brady and his thin receiving corps a lot. besides he is a good pass blocker, too.

i don´t think it´s much of a problem, that he had to share snaps at lsu, because he wasn´t drafted as an immediate replacement for corey dillon. i think 1 or 2 years as a featured back would help him to reach nfl level at this point. of course i know he ´s much more a kevin faulk type of player, but i think he could be a decent starter for the pats.

without the warfield-signing on monday i would have had cb richard marshall in my mind, too. but i think it´s not worth spending a 2nd round pick for a position with good depth.

i know some of you preferred a wr with this pick, but there are a couple of quality players left to land with a third round choice. i think addai wouldn´t have been there at 75, so i used that choice on him.

how do you think about my pick?

From the little I know, it sounds like a very good pick. Did you think about Maurice Drew (an RB who is also a hot return man would be appealing)? Thanks for your efforts.

P.S. Gilbert sure could put away those Currywursts, coulnd't he?

Good job Gilbert, keep 'em coming. I could live with these picks so far. Ya better get us a WR soon.

Addai looks like a great pick. Nice work, Gilbert. How about some OL depth at some point?

at first:

Hi to all the Pats Fans.
i am from Hamburg (Germany) an following the Patriots back to the mid 80s and this board now for over than 3 years.
It was a hard time to watch any american football in germany in the `80s. like gilbert, i saw the game first on german/english television (tele 5 and sky) in 1986 on sky. That was the time of tatupa, duppard, morgan, eason and a fresh"fryar".

so Hi to all of u.

here is my vote for gilberts draft so far:

dein 1st runden pick mit manny war grossartig.
your 1st pick was more than great. one word - MANNNNNNNNNY -

i don`t like this 2nd round pick at all. "Joseph Addai, RB, LSU" maybe he is a good fit for the future, but i prefer a pick like CB like Minter/Marschall or a "new" TE/WR like Klopfenstein (is he german ?) or Hagan. i think a guy like Hagan could help our team in the next season more than Addai. (cause of dillon and faulk).

ich wuensche dir weiterhin ein gutes haendchen im draft (ala BB) und bin auf deine updates gespannt.

i hope my school english was good as your german in this thread.
