I'm thinking 13-3 next season.

I'm afraid that if it had to depend on me there wouldn't be an Empire. Oh, wait ...

Maybe that is why tweaking officers was so satisfying, (especially my baby brother).

should we add some german in this thread?

ok

kruzefix (no babblefish with that but it´s not a very nice word), maurice stovall is gone, i would have REALLY loved him with #75. that increases my interrest on the next picks

Hmmm, you should send your CV (Lebenslauf) to some of the NFL's Front Offices.

i don´t think my cv would impress the nfl´s front offices. of course this years draft is fine right now, but i did a pats mock draft in 2004 (my first mock draft ever) and it was just horrible if you can grade it from a to f, you would have given me a g so tomorrow is my next pick and i´m totally undetermined, who i should pick.

Don't tell me, you traded up for J.P. Losman! Who to pick? Well, wasn't it Bill Parcells who said "You can't be too rich or have too many line-backers"?

yes, i traded up, but not for j.p.losman. i moved from #21 to #12 and picked rb steven jackson. so i lost #21, #56 and #95. unfortunately the pats signed corey dillon 2 days later :bricks:

and the rest of my picks .... ououououou ... all in the nfl, but not a single guy more than a special teamer, backup ...

have a look at the desaster

You've got us OLB Manny Lawson, RB Joe Addai, and WR Mike Hass.

Okay, some suggestions - I listed them in the order I'd rank them for best value to the Patriots:

OT Daryn Colledge
DE Mike Kudla
DE Chris Gocong
TE Joe Klopfenstein
OT Andrew Whitworth
DT Montavius Stanley
WR Brandon Marshall
DE Barry Cofield
DE Daryl Tapp
WR Greg Jennings
TE Tony Sheffler

Good hunting!

ok, you can delete daryn colledge, joe klopfenstein, andrew whitworth and daryl tapp from your list, since they are off board. i didn´t have in my mind to take a de with my pics, is the seymour-situation so dramatically? then i missed that.

interresting list by the way. besides colledge, klopfenstein, whitworth and sheffler i hadn´t a player of them on my list. right at the moment with the ravens on the clock (last pick before me), i have another player in my mind. let me see if i can satisfy you with my pick i also would take martin nance over marshall and jennings.

I think that BOR may be thinking of DEs who would convert to linebacker.

you´re right with kudla and gocong, but stanley and cofield are des in a 3-4 defense. if he wants another olb ....., well, i think lawson is a top addition. for depth at olb i think it´s ok to take a de/olb in later rounds, the patriots have more needs. the next lb would have been an ilb, but one of my preferred guys for #86, gerris wilkinson, went to the chargers. and now i don´t see an ilb worth a third round draft choice. there´s a top ot left, but i don´t believe he fits in patriots scheme .... sadly sadly

Don't worry -- but think how often the Pats draft in pairs (two OLs in the first three rounds last year). Even if we take an LB in round 1, I'd expect another. (But since when did Belichick and Pioli not surprise me?)

i picked roman harper because there was no 3rd round value at other need positions. the next best tight end is tony sheffler, perhaps he is there with my next pick. i would have loved a back-up for vince, too, but the guys worth a 3rd round pick are all to small to play in a 3-4 defense. there were two offensive linemen i could have landed, but i think both are too heavy and not speedy enough to fit in patriots system. i also thought about another wr (martin nance, gone 1 pick after mine to the giants), but i hope to land a quality player (with additional return skills) later.

so i think roman harper was the right choice. a very instinctive player who is allways around the ball. he´s great in run support, but lacks coverage skills a bit, so i think he would fit great at strong safety. with the unknown situation of rodney harrison (who won´t get younger, too) he is a decent back-up/replacement. i think he won´t be an all-pro, but a solid starter at pro level.
