How many people here are nervous?

As far as the Patriots go, I've always approached every game with determination.

Going back to '76, also with confidence, as I knew then and lots of times since that we were the better team.

Adrenaline? Yes. Nervous? No, not scared. Perhaps related to being royally disgusted with unwarranted overhyping of other inferior teams - like Pittsburgh.

I have tickets to a concert on Sunday and am giving them away to watch this game in real time. Nervous, for sure. It's the playoffs and we're facing a two time Super Bowl champion. But hopeful, as well. Can't wait.

I'm a little bit worried that I might not make enough chicken wings for everyone. Does that count?
81 Calories in a chicken wing, 49 of which are from fat. But yummm

I'm very nervous......Atlantas offense is about the only offense that can keep up with NE.

That said, I'd still rather see Atlanta than GB.

See you all in Houston!!

I'm a bit nervous just because a sloppy play.. a lucky play.. a missed opportunity could change the out come of a single elimination game.

Edit: I am going to a friends house, so I will be drinking lots of beer. So I will not be nervous, I just hope the Patriots beat the **** out of them!

I won't be reading the game day thread, so that should help.

First off, I'm always nervous - even if it is the Browns or whatever. Second, yeah more so than normal, but that is normal. I know that is self contradictory, but accurate.

Always nervous, I play scenarios over in my head. I have seen BB stifle a teams best players but I have also seen terrible game plans (see Seattle game and the 2 man rush).
It all comes down to my faith in TB no matter how the game starts to finish it the right way.

Not in the least. Very confident about hoisting #5 Lombardi.

I dunno about nervous, but I think all the pressure is on NE in this one. If we lose, it's a huge disappointment. Meanwhile for pittsburgh even if they lose I'm sure all their fans and team will look at the season as an overrall success. They havent' been this far in 6 years, whereas for us the AFCC has been the worst case scenario in that time frame. Plus i'm sure if they lose stiller nation will have their typical laundry list of excuses and 'boldly' claim next year will be different, after talking tough all week THIS week.

I'm not nervous at all, 11 AFC Championship games, that's ridiculous. Win or lose this franchise is amazing and I'm going to enjoy yet another big game. Very few fan bases have ever gotten to enjoy playing in the biggest games for 15 + years. I really want the win but I'm as grateful as can be that I get to watch games like this year after year. I think this team is incredibly balanced and executes at a high level across the board and that and Brady/Belichick and their defense will execute a game that beats the Steelers.

Nervous that they are in a prime position to top off a title run and could let it slip away (or have it taken from them)...yeah. Knots in my stomach or losing sleep over it, though. Aw hell naw.

I'll gladly take their situation: At home, a defense with something to prove, against an opponent they have played well against the past few years...vs. the road games in Denver 2 of the past 4 seasons or even the 2001/2004 AFCCGs in Pittsburgh.

Regards,
Chris

I am in the job seeking process so no work today but I cannot sleep. I know both Mannings are gone but I still feel worried about Sunday, For me I just want them to cap this off and then they can retire Bill and Tom and we can suck again, I would be fine with that in all honesty. I just want that 5th ring.

But PIT, ATL, and GB are all amazing teams, great at scoring, good enough on defense, man this is stressful.
always nervous come playoff time. Pitt is playing well and their D is peaking at the right time.

According to Bob Ryan who was just on CSN "Brady has never really had that transcendent game" "They have been just good enough to win" lol.. ****in media.

I dont think Im nervous, anxious to see how they play. But like others have said, 11 championship games...I remember the 80's, this has been so good I just have to enjoy it for what it is, win or lose. it is so hard for a team to get this far, other fans will laugh when a team loses in the playoffs but they probably never see their team in there and dont get how hard it is to be consistent. Pittsburg is a great team, they are always a factor so whatever happens there is no shame in how it turns out for either fan base.

I'm confident, not nervous. Our defense is better than people (outside of NE) give it credit for. If Pitt doesn't score TDs like they did last week they won't win. We have a very good Red Zone defense. I think we bottle up LeVeon Bell (oh yeah he gets some yards rushing and receiving) and limit Brown. Brown will end up with 100+ yards receiving but it won't mean scratch. Pitt can't stop our offense, especially with Dion Lewis. We have never lost a game Lewis has played in. That's because the opposing Defense can't key on run or pass when he is in the game. Home field will allow us to go no huddle limiting the Squealers from making defensive subs. Home field advantage ... that's the key!

I'm nervous because any game can swing on a single tipped ball. I watched the undefeated 2007 Pats lose to an inferior team on a fluke, and get relegated to a vague memory in football history. This team should win, but any given Sunday.

This year is special to me because I really want to see Goddell shamed in front of the entire world, forced to congratulate Tom Brady as SB MVP. I really really want that. Has to be this year, for full impact.

Never have once been nervous for a Pats game

Worst case they lose and your life goes on.

Worst case is Mike Kensil lurks on the sideline and.....

Only thing that makes me nervous about this game is the Patriots QB. Tom seems tighter than a drum and that is not a good look for this QB. When Brady is relaxed and confident he is deadly. When Brady is tight and jumpy he makes bad decisions (taking a safety to start the SB) and dumb throws (see Denver playoff game last year) which cost this team playoff games.
The Patriots need the Tom Brady who once fell asleep in the locker room before the Super Bowl.
The Steelers don't scare me.
Tom Brady does.
