Brady has played and beaten better secondaries than Atlanta's. he already faced denver's no fly zone this year and beat the legion of boom in the SB. Not to mention houston just a few weeks ago.
The denver game he particularly didnt throw well. The SB game yes but having gronk helps. Houston , really he didnt play well . So really hard to compare those with this game.

of course now that it's almost game time i have no confidence anymore and am a nervous mess

Not confident at all, I am always nervous before Patriot games and it just magnifies during the playoffs and then the SB. I remember being somewhat ****y in Feb 2008 and we all know how that turned out. The pain I felt from that loss was the worst and I don't want to feel like that again. After that loss, I turned off the TV and did not watch or read any football news till the draft! So many people gloated about the Pats loss that year.

I am really trying to be more mellow this year and do not want to get my hopes up. Besides the Falcons are a good team and a lucky bounce or a down game from the Pats may not give us our desired result. I will be on edge from now till the end of the game and I am hoping that we prevail but refuse to believe it's a given !

Im a new englander, so Im a pessimist by nature.

But im less confident about tomorrow than I was 2 years ago in Phoenix.

50/50

Getting incredibly nervous...now I think I'll need a considerable amount of booze before kickoff to calm the nerves....

The more I hear the stuff about the line and the "source" from Vegas expecting a Falcons blowout, the more I see the following:

Numerous holds on 1st down for the Pats to start them 1st and 20.
Numerous bailout holds on 3rd and long for the Falcons to keep scoring drives alive.
Numerous PI calls (especially if the above aren't working).

The only way it's a blowout is by these occurrences happening. This worries me because the Pats haven't been"blown out" in years.

Something about the whole thing is making me uneasy from earlier in the week. I can't put my finger on it, but if it's a fairly called game there is no chance to Flacons win never mind a blowout.

Whatever your hearing is probably just manipulation tactics.. Why would any people that are interested in making lots of money give away free secrets. If people are claiming the Falcons are going to blow them out its either a tactic to get people to put money on the Falcons. There is a 0% chance the Patriots are getting "Blown Out" could they lose by 3-7 points of course. But a blowout? No.

I would take a blowout either way than a nailbiter .

I think we're going to lose. Atlanta has the best offense in the league, and quite frankly one of the best I've ever seen. Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

I have these vision where every Pats fan watching is gonna say to themselves "if only we had Gronk..."

I think we're going to lose. Atlanta has the best offense in the league...

Few if any are disputing that.

Does Atlanta have the best defense in the league?
No.

Does Atlanta have even a top-ten defense?
No.

Does Atlanta have the superior coaching staff?

Consider the delta between the Atlanta offense and the Patriot defense.
(or if you prefer the difference between the ATL and NE offenses).

Now consider the delta between the Patriot offense and the Falcon defense.
(or if you prefer the difference between the ATL and NE defenses).

Why are so many only looking at the Falcon offense, and nothing else?

Is this the fantasy football-ization of pre-game analysis? Whoever has players that will score the most fantasy football points is to be considered the better team?

Unlike darts, bowling or golf, in football a team's defense has an equal effect as the opponent's offense on the outcome of a game.

By "source" you mean two geeks on this forum who posted nonsense without proof?

The refs almost always swallow their whistles in the SBs. Too many flags make it a bad product on TV

i have this strange feeling that this is like the colts/saints matchup with the pats playing the role of the colts, with all the legacy talk of manning that yr and saints defense supposedly not to be a match for manning

I think the Pats will win, based on everything I've read, but there are a few things that do worry me.

(1) Belichick seems to do best against teams he's familiar with, which does not include the Falcons.
(2) The Pats have a way of keeping Super Bowl games close, even if they are superior.
(3) The Falcons are supposedly a hard-hitting team, so injuries could be a problem.

That said, from what I've read is the Falcons have small corners and their pass rush is overstated (mostly effective against QBs who hold the ball awhile). While they may have a slight edge on offense, we have a big edge on defense. I think the Pats should win pretty easily, but there are certainly enough variables for there to be an upset.

Now I am confident. I think I know how this will go. Pats 41-27.

I'm nervous as he(( like every Super Bowl game that Pats have been in .....I am a mess ....feel good overall that they will win it....but will be a pacing muttering mess as always.....hurts me a lot when they don't win which I know is crazy....after 2007 I probably needed counseling!!!! Go Pats!!!

Pats 38
Atlanta 31

Even knowing Pats should win (I can never bet against Tommy and Bill), I'm nervous as hell too. I just want to see Brady get his 5th, cementing himself as the consensus GOAT (for me he already is) and taking the high road after all the crap he had to deal these last years. He is just the better man, give Goodell and all the haters nothing, just win.
