How Bad Are We?

I included everything obviously relevant. Again, make of it what youy will. I personally make very little of it.

Sprocket.
It was weird how Mike Myers was all the rage, then went poof and was never heard from again. I wonder what happened there. Maybe he just ran out of ideas, or maybe, like so many, his transition from SNL to films just didn't work. It worked for Sandler, of course, who also makes films which are also knuckledragger stupid, but make money. These days, iIhave no relation whatever to popular culture. I'm not sure there even is one.

Make of this what you will:

QBR PAA PLAYS EPA PASS

Mac Jones , 2025.: 64.5 3.9 89 12.6 11.8

Drake May, 2025: 56.9 5.4 147 18.7 13.5

  • QBR:Adjusted Total Quarterback Rating, which values the quarterback on all play types on a 0-100 scale adjusted for the strength of opposing defenses faced.
  • PAA:Number of points contributed by a quarterback, accounting for QBR and how much he plays, above the level of an average quarterback.
  • PLAYSlays on which the QB has a non-zero expected points contribution. Includes most plays that are not handoffs.
  • EPA:Total expected points added with low leverage plays, according to ESPN Win Probability model, down-weighted.
  • PASS:Expected points added on pass attempts with low leverage plays down-weighted
Purdy is replacing Mac Jones this Sunday vs the Jaguars

The Waterboy is a classic.

Meyers Austin Powers was good IMO and Meyers had a part in Inglorious Bastards.

I do not relate either.

I see very few if any who are talented musicians, actors or comedians.

from my recollection and perusing the stats, Bill stopped handing the ball to Faulk, and started passing him the ball. perhaps with Faulk, that made a difference.
Faulks 5th season, he did fumble 4 times. his 7th season 3 times.
Bill never was able to fix Ridley

I'll take your word for it. That's an interesting way to handle it, I have never heard of a coach fixing it that way. And if Vrabel needs to turn Stephenson into a receiving back to fix it then I'm fine with that, because continuing as things are isn't an option, and getting rid of him is stupid. Either way I expect them to let it play out and look to redo his deal in the offseason. If he isn't open to that I think they will move on.

I believe after Shrek and Austin Powers he stepped back into family life. He still does some stuff from time to time and I think there's a new Shrek in the works soon too.

Well. the next month will tell us a lot.

FOR NOW, we might consider that we are very likely a hamstring injury away from being 3-0.
That's a lot of copium. We deserve to be 1-2 because that's exactly how we have played.

All those who thought we were going to win 10 games and make the playoffs this year were way too optimistic.

I'm still thinking 7-8 wins would be a good point to reach. An improvement from last season but we can clearly see growing pains are real for our overhauled offense. Everyone's learning a new system.

I was listening to Unfiltered and they were talking about how Faulk used the elbow pads as a way to secure the ball. And how Tiki Barber adjusted his technique so the ball was against his chest.
“High and tight” is the technique coaches teach to cure fumbling. It’s fixable.

Nah… fix the mistakes and this team is 3-0.

This isn’t last year where the coaches are morons, there simply is no talent and the situation is hopeless.

The talent is there, the coaches are capable, the team is young but not beyond hope.

Coach the hell out of them, double digit wins is reasonable assuming health.

Hilarious side-observation for my fellow geezers - my God, what a 1970s murderers' row... Raiders, Steelers, Dolphins... things ain't what they used to be. Oh yeah, and us too.

They should be given 3 ring binders for their playbook and be made to carry it around the facility, with coaches constantly trying to rip the playbooks out of the hands of any player in the complex. Or if they're not actually in the building long enough to make that work, maybe make offensive players carry a football everywhere and everybody try to grab and hammer it out, constantly. Or hook up a device that administers an electric shock to the testes of any running back that fumbles. But not in-game, that would just make matters worse. No, they should take the player's family hostage and tell the player that each time he puts the ball on the ground, he's putting one of his kids in the ground. Some kind of diabolical visual he can see on a heads-up helmet visor with a kid almost buried alive, with one more shovel of dirt activated by a football. I don't know, water could work too. Okay, first of all, obviously (I hope), none of those suggestions is serious. Secondly this sports psychology shtick is harder than I thought...

I think tomorrow's game is going to give us a better answer regarding their fate. If they lose again at home to a bad Panthers team, the **** is going to start hitting the fan as they will looking at a potential 1-4 start facing the Bills the following week.

Bob is always looking for scapegoat. If Vrabel wins 4-6 games his first season with all the money spent, 3rd over pick at QB and high draft picks in 2025, I wouldn't be shocked if his seat gets very hot. That would make his record 11-13 wins to 31-33 losses in his last 41 games. That is really bad.

Given the situation with coaching the last few seasons I think Vrabel's seat is firm. As it would be laughable for the organization to be looking to replace another HC anytime soon...But you make an excellent point. I personally feel we have the HC and QB to ultimately get back into being a contender. Losing tomorrow would be a terrible look for the coaching staff and the organization. We have been amongst the worst teams at home the past few seasons. This is a MUST win.

You people wanting to move on from Vrabel after 1 season with this absolute **** ****ing Bill and Mayo roster need to have your heads examined. ****ing Ben Johnson didn't want this job. Get over it.

Well said DFP. This is so familiar to when BB took over in 2000. This roster is still not Vrabel's. He needs another offseason at the very least to get this roster his own. Ben Johnson saw the talent in Chicago and felt that roster was far superior even with a **** front office.

The loss to the Steelers shows a serious lack of focus. That's ball security by the RB1 and the starting QB. Good grief. That was an issue that has now carried over from last year.

Mayo=Vrabel

Even with all we've done this offseason, this team is still filled with guys that are nothing more than stopgaps.

We're going to have to nail the next two offseasons to even establish reliable starters at half the positions.
