How about 5 RB's AND 4 TE's?

I find it interesting that all at once (this year), we are trying to find a roster spot for a KR, a 3rd QB and a 4th TE. We often don't have ANY of these roster positions.

NONE of these are "needs", except for TE until Gronk is able to play.

I don't think it's that different from many of the other years myself. Just last year we kept 4 TE's, 6 CB's, and found a roster spot for a guy whose primary duty was to return punts (as opposed to KO's like this year).

Of course as you said--many years we don't have to worry about more than 2 QB's, but that has varied at times. We knew that the team may carry 3 QB's way back in June when Tebow first came here.

It's just the nature of the roster game in my opinion, although you may have a different viewpoint.

Obviously, we have always dealt with restraints. I think that on the board this year, we have been helped by the roster tool. No more cutting Tebow and using the roster spot four times over. We all understand that we could have other than 25 Offense and 25 Defense, but we generally keep it pretty close.

I think that at this point in the process, we are greatly undervaluing special teamers. White, Koutouvides and Rivera had lots and lots of reps as ST only players last year. (I'm counting even counting Carpenter and Tarpinian). How many of us have even 2 ST/LBers?

That may also have been somewhat due to the injury to Fletcher. It's at least a reasonable thought to ponder.

With the addition of Collins and Fletcher, we should be able to get by with only 1 ST/LB in my opinion.

I'm still not even convinced that we'll definitely carry 6 WR's. 5 may be the limit...we only carried 4 last season on the opening 53.
