Guess What: Belichick built a Championship team in 2011

I still am in awe of BB's coaching of defense to what it was.

Even giving up 19 pts considering who was back there

that was a bad pass in the sb.

trade brady for whoever the poor man's brady is

Welker dropped it, but that team was all Tom Brady and the offense. He was lucky Andre Carter and Waters worked out otherwise all his free agents and trades would have been colossal busts.
You are such a tool. Your constant blather about how bad the Pats FO does is becoming tiresome.

Name me a team who wouldn't want to come out of a FA period with 2 consensus all pros and a 10 sack situational rusher all for less than $10MM in cap space, not to mention other FA's who played and contributed to a team that made the superbowl. Name me the team that did better.

BTW- for all its problems, the Pats had the 5th best defense in the playoffs that season, and the game against the Giants wasn't lost because of the defense.

.

Remember, there is a contingency of posters here (that are probably 14 years old) that want to rip management because they cant win a ring. Then management does not re-sign a player who couldn't seem to help us win a ring and they rip management for trying to win a ring and make changes.

They are so stupid they cant even put together a coherent train of thought. It is called attention seeking. Just a bunch a stat loving dorks. Welker was great. He was! He is gone. Next!

Final score is still

FO-3
WW-0

Also, Adam V literally won us 2 rings and you could say 3. Was there this much pissing and moaning when he was not brought back?

Catchable ball via circus catch on a terrible throw to a wide open receiver.
Rooting hard for Wes to get a ring in Denver. If there was ever a player the average person could relate to it's Wes Welker.

What does that even mean? He's lucky he made good decisions otherwise he would have made bad decisions?

Means he's made tons of bad ones and that his throw **** against the wall and see what sticks usage of veterans paid off instead of failing like it had the past 8 years. Look at the very next year same type of moves resulted in garbage players across the board.

Wes Welker dropped it

Every game has a handful of game deciding plays in it ... some not so obvious. Teams lose games ... not individual players.

It was not a good pass.

But Adam V kick in the snow was more difficult than catching that pass was. Bradys last drive in the SB against the Rams had long odds.

The difference between clutch players who win rings and a guy that diddnt.

Again, diddnt like the pass but clutch players find ways to win.

Unfortunately I wont be rooting for Wes. Sure I have problem with him getting a ring because he is a great player. I just cant stomach Manning getting another one. And anyone who would root for Manning to get another ring just to see Wes get one is a loser.

They actually gave up 19 points, since you can't hold them accountable for Brady's safety.

But the NYG weren't anywhere close to being "the best offense in the league." They were barely in the top 10.

LIke I said in my post, it really had a lot more to do with Belichick's incredible coaching and efficient scheme work than it had to do with "building a championship team." When you "build a championship team" usually 4 of your 6 secondary positions arern't JAGs who royally suck.

Good catch. I was refering to the patriots being the best offense, not the giants. Patriots offense cost them that super bowl and super bowl 42. Defense gave up untimely scores but overall was not bad.

So BB should hit on every pick and decision? And because he does not (and nobody ever has) you think he sucks.

Every coach and GM has made mistakes. Over and over. Yet for the last 12 years we seem to have gotten it right. Gee, what is the common thread? Yeah sure...Brady helps but BB has made some great decisions too and that includes some unpopular ones..

And you know what? Its a lot more than ******* decisions. Maybe BB dosent make the perfect decisions but knows how to coach them up better than anyone else. Or perhaps he knows how to scheme better than anyone else. Or play situations better... Whatever the formula it seems to work for the most part.

There is no such thing as a team that dosent make bad decisions.

How do some of you people make it in the real world where everything is hardly perfect?

you're confusing me
who are you saying was the unclutch guy --- brady or welker?

Sorry, thought you were referring to the NYG offense.

I think that's a fair statement about the D playing well enough to win, aside from the unfortunate late scores in the game.

First of all its Brady and Welker. Take the extra millisecond and capitalize their names on this forum Show some respect. This isn't a text message. Or do the TB and WW.

Second, lets work on your first post in this thread. If I can read sarcasm right and being from Boston you know I can...You seem to indicate that it might have been Brady's fault that the game sealing pass was not hauled in.

I can see both sides and always have. I diddn't like the pass. But you then this TB remark about ok he should go too since he made a mistake.

The pass wasn't great
It was catchable. WW has to make that catch.

I dont blame the whole game on wes but what you say is true.

Not sure what your point is with that last line you know good and plenty how we won those 3 out 4 so am I missing your point or sarcasm???

Sarcasm all the way - but a defense built for the playoffs might just answer my own question for real.

I never understand why it is dumping time when players move on. Welker was a "go to" guy for Brady . . . period. He caught more passes than anyone in the NFL during the time he was here. And how many third downs became first downs because of those catches? He never missed a game, despite blowing out his knee at the end of the season in 2009. So yes, hate the guy because he declined a low contract to stay with the Pats, when the Pats clearly were paying Amendola, who has done nothing in New England yet, more.

It is plain stupid to say he lost the championship. Brady threw it, and Welker didn't catch it. Here is the link to that drop (sadly with humorous 'butterfinger' advertisement from opposing fans). Welker is looking at Brady, wide open, and Brady threw it high and behind him (180 degree pivot, full extension and head spin to make the catch). Bad throw on the move, difficult catch. Didn't happen. Yes, let us all remember the throw as a frozen rope that bounced off Welker's hands.

I am sorry to see Welker go, but hating on the guy after all he has done is ridiculous. The Pats gave him no reason to stay, so I don't fault him for leaving. It was a business decision, that I hope works for the Pats in the end. If Amendola is truly glass, most will hate this decision next season and beyond. I hope it is another 2007 Welker move.

So you think the Patriots have sucked for 8 years. Mkay, gotcha.
This is why I stopped reading your posts. Sadly I mistook you for someone with a similar name.

Who hates WW? I sure dont. I dont see a lot of posters who hate him or dont think he wasnt great here.

These constant straw men are seriously ridiculous. Nobody hates him and wanted him to leave!!!!! Got IT? But he is gone...move the **** on.

FO decided it may have been time to move on. Or wanted him for a specific price only. Or wanted him but had to cover itself in case he was snatched up last second. And then when they had DA just decided at that point they had their guy.

And by the same token why is everyone here who has accepted the move a WW hater and this drama being made after the whole "All he has done here" when its the FO that is getting dashed to pieces.

What about all they have done? I dont agree with everything and not everything works out but at least they are trying.

Are you just as upset about the FO getting all this hate after "all they have done?"

Knowing us, even if Welker caught that ball we still could have blown that game.

There are so many idiot, crybaby, whiners here it is difficult to keep them straight.

No matter what the FO does these clowns will just keep going with their Rain Man routine.

What about Ocho, what about Ocho, WW 118 1354 for 6 118 1354 for 6, Haynesworth, haynesworth, Dad lets me drive slow in the driveway...yeah 118 1354 for 6

I missed the trophy presentation!

If you give Welker the catch, you have to give the Ravens the catch in the AFCCG. So I guess Caughlin, Harbaugh, and Belichick all built championship teams. Probably a few others. Crowded podium.

Or maybe just Caughlin did.
