Greg Bedard skewers AVP

I get it. That's why I'm asking the question. When strange comes back.. with Sow and the line settles. After how more 88 passing yards games will it take to get off the Jacoby gives us the best chance island ?..

Brissett is incapable of playing bad enough in my eyes to put Maye into the line up before he is ready. Brissett could be worse than Mac and Zappe were last year combined and I am not saying put in Maye in until he is ready.

I don't think Brissett gives us the best chance to win. And I don't care. I don't want to make the Pats a 6-8 win team with Maye if it hinders his development in any way. I would rather be a 4 win team again with Brissett if it means Maye will be a better QB in the future.

Again, I don't care if the Pats don't win another game this year if it helps Maye be a franchise or even an elite QB. I've come to grips with the fact this team is going to suck this year. Nothing is going to change my mind that the best decision on whether to play Maye or not is based on what is best for his future and not anything to do with this year.

Entirely agree with your premise however and someone else just pointed it out to me Mayo said he was ready at the start of the season and it was Jacoby's entire body of work that had them chose him as the starter. Obviously a little bit of coach speak there but clearly they think he's close to ready he is an injury away so he better be ready.

Becuase you don't agree doesn't make you opinion the truth. Opinions
Caley would have been the OC.. was pretty much his job say no To. Wolf likely told him Brissett was going to be the bridge QB.. that probably made his choice to stay with McVay.

Would Caley be running the EP system?

I personally was looking forward to a break from it after years of WR who couldn't seem to grasp it.

Probably won't be long before I'm fed up with this system too.

IDK, I don't know how much stock other teams put in these comments. I am sure that considering the Pats' strengths are their running game which is the Jets' weakness, the Jets prepared for the Pats to run a lot especially in short week no matter what Mayo said. the Jets probably would think Mayo was bluffing.
I would. Every week he said what the team is going to try to do and then they do it.

You could just grit your teeth and figure how to separate wheat from chaffe with those guys. They might be two parts noise/nonsense to one part useful information, but it's worthwhile -- especially with a knowledgeable guest holding court.
Nope. I quit listening to sports talk radio a long time ago and I'm not going back. Especially not for Frankenstein and Igor.

AVP said the opposite after the Jets' game. I believe AVP on this. AVP was asked if he benefitted more from playing or sitting and watching at this point and AVP said sitting and watching. I will take the guy whose job it is to work with the QBs and watch their development more.

Didn't love throwing Maye out there in garbage time against a team that was confusing our offensive line all night. On top of that I think he had two backups on the O-line after our two crappy starters went out.

No. I am talking about how if you are constantly under pressure and you are still working on your footwork it is a recipe for developing bad habits.

Again, I don't care about this year. With or Maye starting, this team is going nowhere. The priority is to make sure he turns into a franchise QB. If the coaching staff do not think he is ready, then I believe he isn't ready.
This year is about Maye. Having him take the year off helps no one.
Working on something live under pressure sticks. Working on it running the other teams plays does not.
Pressure does not affect footwork. You take your drops before pressure arrives.

Do you have a link to that supposed quote?

If AVP is a crappy OC why would his judgment be trustworthy?
I mean literally we are saying he is wrong, and your answer is he must be right because he made the decision.

AVP really said that?

So he basically just making public decisions for Mayo now that doesn't seem right. I need to go find the quote I guess I'm hoping he was trying to defend Jacoby rather than step on Mayo.

That's why we'll have the 32nd Ranked Offense and a Top 3 pick at least we'll win Draft day.

Maye is very raw and I don’t think having Caley as OC would make any difference this year

A very Un-innovative OC with a crappy QB a match made in...

Feels like Mayo may want him to play but Wolf and AVP want to keep him sitting. When asked after the game Mayo said he wasn't sure who his starting quarterback would be. Then the next time we hear from him it is this "footwork" talk after "watching film", aka talking to AVP, and likely Wolf.

I am mainly worried that this staff as a whole is too worried about being competitive instead of being good.

if that's the case we'll see how RK likes that below in that beautiful stadium and jumbotron. Didn't hey renovate that lighthouse too?? Happy days are here.

So another nail in the coffin of the did we hire a crappy OC question.
That's not a question AJ it looks like we did.
